This is merely a script request, I want to make a game which shows the picture of the weapon on the top before it changes weapon, as shown in HL2.

Like that in the top left corner, but in the middle like Half-life 2. So I'm wandering does this just consist of Huds appearing when a weapon is picked up/changed or is completely no doable.
I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before, I never visit the Script Board, as much, as I'm a downright modeller.

Well, you could hard-script it (Man, that sounds so weird. ) and set up a bunch of variables using the new system that pertain to each possible weapon.

I doubt you're going to over-ride the fact that pressing a number will autoswap your weapon to the weapon that FPSC thinks you're wanting to grab, that is... unless you Mod the source.

I think, given the amount of introspective philosophy behind the setup (Yes, I just pulled that outta my ***) You may have to sit down and think about how your desire system is going to work, knowing that the number keys are already bound to the inventory created by FPSC.

Come to think of it... I don't think there are any scripting commands to change weapons in the official updates.

Yup, you're SOL. Sorry, Deathead!

Hmmmm....

I think you could use SCANCODEKEYPRESSED to check if the 1-9 buttons have been pressed, and show HUDs with the weapons and one of them Highlighted, (the actual selection)......

Of course, this wouldn't work for the Mousewheel though.....

Hmm....I guess i could create a system with this using Ply's Mod that'll work with the Mousewheel, but you'd have to revert to V1.07 to use it, and set all weaponry to certain keys, and give me HUDs of selected and non-selected weaponry, (selected = bright, non-selected = not so bright)........

@CG:

I think you're forgetting about something. In HalfLife, the weapon doesn't change until the HUD selection has been made. If Deathead is looking for that style, then it'd be impossible to force FPSC not to swap weapons when the user hits a number key that corresponds to a weapon.

I think the best that could be accomplished is a set of HUDs that highlight when they're corresponding weapon has been selected.

Good luck with this.

Oh no, I just meant that when he pressed 1-9, the HUDs would pop up with the corresponding lit HUD representing the chosen weapon......

It wouldn't actually be a selection, just a pop-up that shows what gun you've picked......

Using variables, I could work out a system for the mousewheel, but I dunno if your mod allows you to test forward and backward wheel movement....

Nope, no mousewheel movement conditions in the mod.

Also, what if the player picks up the weapons in a different order than what you have the HUDs set up for?

You could set the order via the setup.ini file, or whichever one you assign keys too......

In theory, it'd still work for the 1-9 keys......
