My Tower ati radeon x1650, 2gig ram 2.20 ghz prosessor, XP SP2 pc is restarting in and out of game, is hot on the top with normal temps displayed in bios.

If playing a game or music sound will loop and then pc will crash and restart. This can happen wether playing music or a game or not. Often will occur on reboot but not at login screen.

I use Comodo Firewall, Spysweeper, AVG and spybot search and destroy.

This problem dissappeared a week ago when i defragmented then popped up again. It is no where near as fragmented as it was.

Where can I get the codes. I know how to build it with codes. GET IT. I HOPE U UNDERSTAND. DUHH

If it's not getting too hot. Plugged anything new into the PC lately that might be putting the PSU under too much stress ?

If that's ok, then it might be a dodgy bank of ram. Have you tried running some memory diagnosis apps on it ?

if its happening in games and also not in games then its most likely not a heat issue, but i'd monitor the cpu and gpu temps jst to be sure. but yeah, possibly a dodgy psu or memory. what are the psu specs vs the component draw? you might be on the edge with a slowly degrading psu, I've had this happen.

It ok today...

Reversed all changes. Same result.

Not really much i can do if its PSU... Doubt it it is rather random... so probally not degenerate.

a dodgy psu can manifest as random blue screens, shutdowns etc
