This is really just so that people can't go and resurrect ancient threads - which would push live discussions down the page and cause general annoyance.

less is more, but if less is more how you keeping score?

hm, it causes annoyance to me if I cannot reply to a thread, so I have to open a new one which pushes down "live threads" just as the old one would have done and lacks context in addition.
What constitutes a "live thread" anyway? As soon as there is an answer to a thread, the thread is alive (in my opinion) - being old or not.

I'd like to be able to reply on ancient topics too.
And it's quite annoying when noone replied to my topic for 30 days and I've just finished a new update for that game then: I can't post it anymore.

Also, I'd like to be able to change the tread title also after the topic was created.
Last point: if I search something and click on one of the results, then go back it can't display the page anymore and I have to start the search over. I'd like this to be fixed...

If you were able to change the name then no one would be able to keep track of threads anymore. People would abuse this too much. You can "Blah Blah Insert My Game Title Here - 'UPDATE'" the "UPDATE" would be the thing the mod added.

You can have a mod update your thread title?

If you haven't replied to your own thread in 30 days, or nobody has posted in a thread in 30 days, then the chances are that 99.99% of the users here (i.e. the majority) do not want to see the thread dug up.

I agree with Van B. Well TBH I think that the threads should be locked if unactive in 1 month, as by then a load of other threads would of came, and it would be low-down the threads by then. And there should be a 1 bump rule. Bump a thread 2 or more times it gets locked. And if it is a 2 month period between the thread and the bump then it should be locked for sure, as I hate it when someone does a mega-bump it, makes me cringe, as they take up things which was like last years stuff, and that. I think it should be called "Thread Digging".lol

@Bizar Guy - Yes, if you want a thread renamed just ask a mod.

I don't have any problems with the system, if a thread has been left for 30 days chances are it's at least on the 2nd page of threads by then, if not the 3rd or 4th depending on the board.

Also

When you've done a search, if you find a thread you want to read just open that one in a new tab, when you've finished close the tab and go back to the list of threads your search returned. No refreshing required.

Well, I must say I've come past a lot of nice posts that've helped me (like text wrapping, for example) and things I'd like to update that I can't do no longer. I'd prefer to see people being able to bump one old topic per day, and maybe not in Geek Culture for obvious reasons .

A mod has been erased by your signature because it was larger than 600x120

So someone joining to spam porn can:

1. Post an innocent thread and get it approved.
2. Change the content
3. Change the title

Not wise!

There's nothing to fix. It works like any other form - you posted data, the browser is warning you that the data has now expired, may be irrelevant and could corrupt the process. To fix that you would need to change the standards for web browsers.

http://forum.leadwerks.com/ or the gamemaker forum and many others can do that, so it's not like any other forum

This is really a non issue. The policy has been in place for years.
And it has worked. There is no reason to change it.
Speaking of locked threads

thats a zero argument.

There have been some arguments for changing it.
But some people keep argueing that it would be bad if old threads were digged up. Why is it bad? I realy dont understand this.
