I try launching gmod but it fails I know this is not facepunch or steam but I have to say, I will get better support here.

I think with somethings on Vista, you have to play with settings before they work and I think Source powered games are one of them. I tried playing Dark Messiah but when it ran the graphics were incredibly glitchy - a quick google search of "Dark Messiah, Vista" got me what I need, I've not tried it yet but it might be relevant.

The website that came up was TweakGuides - you might find GMOD on there or try the tweaking the have for DM (as they both run off of the same engine)

or did you get the gmod 2007(11) Beta?

Either way I would contact Garry newman about this, He`ll know much more about Gmod then us lot. Seeming as he was the programmer, and overall project manager of gmod.

I looked at facepunch and all I've got to say is ... wow there's a lot of stupid people on that forum. There must be at least 20 threads on the same darn problem, many of them beginning with something completely useless such as

Yes, that forum is full of idiots. But the moderators themselves are idiots so it all balances out.

Oh and, you won't get better support here unless you actually help us help you. You have provided little information other than the fact that it "fails".

Agreed, I`ve seen the forum, and damn it needs to be shapen up.
Also Garry likes to ban people for wrong links. and people gave aways stuff on the Gmod uploading thingy that are totaly crap, there was a zip file that said to have everything, instead a txt document saying: here is everything.

Ah, it had nothing to do with Vista... it was a memory bug there was in a FAKE Patch...

I remember that patch, it didnt patch it up. it just let the wound bleed more pain.
