Direct X10 is certainly not dying whereas DX9 has no future - it is in DX10
There are few published games completed with any indie engine and that holds true also for all TGC products. FPSC X9 has more users than the X10 Version for a wide variety of reasons and that shows in somewhat more activity and more users showing that they work with it - but completed full games in the real sense of the word are and always will be in short supply. FPSC X9 has only a small number of in depth development titles going on. That in itself is an achievement for an indie engine of this standing. FPSC both X9 and X10 have been and still are unstable from many points of view. Again this is not unlike many other Indie engines which may be often in a state of flux, updating and continually under development and bug fixing.
These instabilities make it very difficult for indie developers to complete games which require stability and reliability over a long period of time in which to develop their games. Firstly they need a capable, reasonably feature rich and stable bug free product, then support over a period of time to ensure support and backwards compatibility in updated versions that move their chosen development platform forward throughout the life of their development.
In this current state of uncertainty it is unlikely that we will see many serious and complete games developed with either version of FPSC.
