DirectX is windows only. Mac runs OpenGL.

If DirectX 10 was available on a platform other than Vista, Microsoft would be losing a lot of money.

You can install a Windows OS along with Windows applications on an Intel mac.

You can certainly play games on OS X, there are many games available although the majority are released a fair few months after being released for Windows and there are obviously many, many more games available for Windows.

OpenGL can take advantage of DirectX 10 hardware, as long as the vendor has produced decent drivers that allow OpenGL calls.

The graphics cards they put in the Macs now are DX10 compatible, where Open GL may take advantage of the hardware, it also means if you put Windows Vista on to bootcamp, theoretically you could use Direct X 10 (Though I'm not sure how compatible Windows Vista is with Bootcamp - I've been told it works fine)

If you're having trouble shooting your ipod, you may need to adjust the sight or consider trying it at a closer range.

Indeed, using a shotgun with spreadshot cartridges would help too.
