"Oscar-winning special effects expert Stan Winston, who created the creatures in films including Aliens and Jurassic Park, has died at the age of 62."

Sad day indeed for cinema.

He was the greatest monster maker ever in my opinion, responsible for the aliens in Aliens and in Predator. Not to mention the Terminators.

I know that a lot of people around here are probably fans of his work and who knows what movie monsters are going to be like now

Stan Winstons good, but Harryhausen is the greatest monster maker in my opinion.

The most brilliant animatronics and costume artist in history, no contest. Terminator, Predator, Aliens, all of the animatronic dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, Edward Scissorhands, Chewbacca, the alien guys in Alien Nation, Penguin in Batman 2, and AI... I'm missing a ton of stuff I'm sure. No one was ever as prolific and the film industry won't be the same without him around. I've always been a fan of Winston's... this is really tragic news .
