text 20,20,"Hello"
load image "skull.bmp",1
sprite 1,40,40,1
sync
suspend for key

I can't get both the sprite AND the text message on the screen together. If I delete the text line, I get the sprite, if I delete the sprite line I get the text ! Why is that please?

Thanks WindowsKiller.
That does the trick.
It would be nice if all these little gems, inc when to use load image rather than bitmap etc, were in 1 of the tutorials - I couldn't find a reference in any of them - is there 1 please?.

Ed222 - 1 is at 20,20 and 1 at 40,40. They're bothe small enough to nt overlap.
What I mean is, looking at the help on these commands is NOT helpful.

sorry about that I didn't run you code so I thought that was only a part of your code and I also didn't know the size of your image because of that and no I didn't look at the help files when I asked the question.
