Ok this might not be the smartest question to ask but.
I use to script in RUBY (rmxp)

Are they similar in anyway? And if i Take up fosc scripting, will it be easier since i already. Scripted in ruby?

Punk13,

I'm not familiar with RUBY. I have come to learn that the .fpi scripting that FPSC uses is very unique. It's not very difficult, it just takes getting used to the protocols and commands.

In using other engines, I've compared their scripting languages to the .fpi used by FPSC, and found that there really aren't many similarities...

RUBY is NOTHING like FPI... There are some MINOR similarities, but those are in all scripting languages...

Ruby, from what I've heard, is 9 times harder to learn than FPI......( Ply told me... ).....

It's easy once you get the hang of it, like riding a bike......

Well, one major difference between FPI and the many other scripting languages (Like Ruby and Lua) is that they tend to be stand-alone languages, and can be used by themselves if the time calls for it. Whereas FPI is completely dependant upon FPSC. You cannot use FPI outside of FPSC, as it is hard-coded into the FPSC engine.

While FPI is extremely easy to use compared to the other scripting languages, it is far from having the shear power and flexibility of the others.
