When I came back today... the "Newest Post" link no longer works. It just takes me to the first page of the thread.

Anyone else get this problem recently?

It refers to the newest post that you haven't read.

Yes but it doesn't appear if there are no new posts...

Yes but if you have read all the post on the first page and the newest post (which you haven't read) is on the second page it just takes you to the start of the first page. Has always done that for me, can be annoying.

Don't worry, i sometimes have the same problem, usually it only happens to me if there are lots of posts on the 1 thread, but if its only 1 page, it usually works.

This question comes up every so often - basically, each time we delete a post in a thread, the numbering goes out by 1 (eg you have 50 posts numbered from 1 to 51 with a missing deleted one).

You're more likely to see it in longer running threads )for obvious reasons), or when the post count gets near a multiple of your posts-per-page size.

The link worked for me for a long time. It even worked for threads up to around 8-10 pages long and it would still take me to the correct page with the oldest "new" post.

But when I got back, not even if the new post was on the first page, it'd still load up at the top as if I simply clicked the thread topic.

Oh well, guess I better get use to it.

YAY! I'm a user. IE just became that kid who kept sitting in the corner crying about crashing all the time.

I use IE. I have no reason to use any other browser. It serves my purposes and hasn't crashed on me nearly as much as some OTHER browsers which shall remain nameless for the sake of not starting a browser war.
