Yes I ranted about games...I don't care about games anymore apart from some game dev. I went the cheesy way of healthy eating and exercising and interaction...but today I saw this, and I have a feeling I will have a relapse.

Diablo III, I heard about it earlier today, but DAMN, that gameplay trailer on the site with the barbarian and the new Witch Doctor class is absolutely amazing. Every single shot looked absolutely epic.

Luckily, my girlfriend likes RPG's, so hopefully, I'm not going to lose her over a Diablo III addiction because we'll be slashing through the hordes of hell together .

PS: The logo animation and the logo itself are amazing.

Never played Diablo, have been tempted, but now that you suggest it'll ruin my social life and make me fail puts me off, at least for a couple of years, just to avoid becoming one of those basement geeks.

But please don't got angry, I'm only a 'mere mortal' (as the D&D folk would say).

I bought Diablo 2 not too long ago (I wanted something to play on my ibook) but I never really got into it, maybe I'll dig it out and have a bash although it may have lost some of its charm with age.

I am hoping by "beat it" you were referring to the game...I am in fact not even going to touch the single player, I'm going straight for the newb pwnage in battle.net

2 years ago I posted a vid of me doing in Diablo 2
http://youtube.com/watch?v=IVHJwuhw940

I gotta admit, Blizzard is on a roll like a katamari of pure cash...Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 and a new WoW expansion? I hear a cash register in the distance opening and closing very fast...

I don't understand diablo. It's all about getting the best gear and not just beating the game. I understand it's cool to have the best gear but it seems like beating the game is neglected or something lol. I was pretty excited when I first got diablo 2 but when my friend said, "I'll rush you." I was furious. There went the whole game. Because he rushed me I beat the game in like 15 minutes. Then I spent about 1 month just trying to get good gear which became so superly repetitive I just uninstalled it and I haven't played since.

HOWEVER, if you play the game to "play the game" it is truly an awesome game. Therefore, I'm very excited to play diablo 3 lol.

Yes - I only succumbed to rushing when I was too weak to beat the final boss and wanted to finish the game. I always try to play it as a story game, though, rather than a loot-collecting game. The loot's fun since it enhances the experience, but without melty demon-death it's nothing special.

WOW.

Diablo was one of those games that we (my older bro, and my sister) could all play without any anger goin around, truly awsome.
Im just wondering how there goin pull of a story, it seemed pretty complete after the expansion on D2. However, reading some FAQ closely...

" But something evil is stirring once again in Tristram, and it may already have claimed its first victim: Deckard Cain."

NOT CAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

AND. how many jokes do you think Blizzards goin through in? for example, in the trailer, when the guy finds cain, he says "stay awhile and li_" only to get cut off, and then he says "No one ever wants to listen"... I actually laughed out loud there, cause its so true, you get cain to I.D. you stuff, and you move on.
I just hope the game keeps true to diablo.

And the game seems kinda easy from the trailer, but im sure there cheated or somthing... i hope.

I didn't know any better. And fault has nothing to do with anything. That's how nearly everyone plays the game and I'm merely saying I don't understand why.

I know: because almost everyone is stoopid. I played the first runthrough without any help, and the first online run was with a group of friends who levelled at the same pace. Pretty fun, much better than the third run (rush, gear focussed blah).

I liked playing D2 by starting a new guy on single player or on the lan (that's how I always played, I don't like Bnet) and typing "/players 8" which will make the game think there are 8 players in the game. So you gain 8x the exp, but the enemies are 8x harder. It's a lot of fun. So by the time you beat the 2nd or 3rd areas you're level 30+, but the game is still quite difficult.

I'm WAY excited for Diablo 3. Diablo 2 is probably my all time favorite game. The story line is good in that it's not tacky, it's fun to watch the cut scenes, but at the same time, if you skip everything, you won't get lost. Because I figured D2LOD sealed that game up for good.

Well that's like a beginner who just passed his driving exam informing a driver with 10+ years of experience he is not supposed to be holding the wheel with one hand sometimes.

Diablo 2 is so well established, that us players who've been there from the start, beaten the game right out of the box many times, have headed off on battle.net, went through all the patches, and pretty much know the game inside out. We're gonna be playing a bit differently than an average beginner.

You get to the point where the game is all about competitive "dueling", and those who aren't into it just don't participate.

The reason D3 is gonna be so off the wall is because it's a fresh adventure and seasoned Diablo fans who've ripped through 1 and 2 and gonna tear through it again, pick up the perks, then go back to fighting each other.

I believe you mean "repetitive dueling" lol. Don't get me wrong it's an awesome game and I'm super stoked about D3. But no game is as repetitive as Diablo. I played it hours and hours a day for a while, (maybe for 2 months i don't remember it's been a while so maybe like I said earlier and just 1 month) and the game just turned into one LONG repetition lol.

But it is a good game. The most fun I had was when I did the little hack thing on open battle net lol. Even though everybody else hacked there I played my person by myself throughout the game. And I didn't hack like a super hacker, I just gave myself real gear.

I found it very deep...character classes could be mixed up with so much different gear and developed with many different skills, so much that there were constantly new character builds being developed and people would work on developing new character builds to defeat builds that have been proving dominant in duels. I think Diablo 2 was the first pioneer in an action-rpg with a functional and innovating skill tree system that let you upgrade your characters with more than just the usual strength/dexterity etc.

Obviously it's gonna reach a point when you're "done it all". The game does come on only 2 cds.

It may work for you, I've done a few google searches and it looks like it either works fine or it doesn't work at all. If you're lumped with the latter there are a few suggestions around to try but nothing that works for me or the majority of others by the looks of things.

Now I cant wait for Starcraft 2 AND Diablo 3. However I also wonder what that Next Gen MMO they are making is. They may make a Starcraft one, but they also may take a chance and create a different IP, one they have been waiting to make for some time. Well whatever it is I know it will be good, even if it isn't for me, it'll be good.

With the right attention and the right googling you will find Vista solutions for most games. I've gotten a couple of old games to work with minimal changes, like Final Fantasy 8 (with no problems)

Yes, and a Cesna and a Boeing 747 are both aircraft. Also, a Ferrari and a Lada are both cars and a 133Mhz, 4MB RAM and 20MB HDD and an Acer Predator are both PC's.

Fallout has turnbased and tactical combat, while Diablo is more action based and speed.
