Could I create a DirectX 8.1 game using DBPro ??? I mean all updates now require DX9.c installed (Oct 2006 too) ... and I was wondering ... could I make a DX8 game, yet having all the bugs fixed like the current updates ??? thanks

I dont think you can, unless you only install any updates to reach DX8, but you would not be able to get any fixes since then.

nasty I wonder why did the TGC move on to DX9 ??? I mean DX8 can offer A HECK of a lot of things ... and 99% of the users have games worthy of software rendering anyways ... this limitation is useless

My Win98 works by Dx9c.
It is supplied by MS.

I think that Win98 should be supported.
It has many game users.
There is not it with a coder.

There is a choice.
A choice is DBC and DBP.

DBC has FAR LESS features cause I would have used it u know and I don't mean visual ones, but it lacks physics, particle emitters, etc.
