I'm not sure... I would just search for laptops that were built for gaming purposes.

Gaming laptops mostly have small amounts of hard drive space. Will I be able to find one under $500 with 2gb of RAM and a hard-drive of at least 80gb?

finding an effective laptop is pretty hard to find with a limit of $500. Try ebay, though those usually jump to a couple thousand in the last 10 sec.

Ever notice how in Microsoft word, the word "microsoft" is auto corrected to be "Microsoft" but "macintosh" just gets the dumb red underline?

I now have $560, anything with that? I found an okay one new on eBay, but I want to wait and watch it.

Go to PCWorld.com. There's a sidebar that says, "Find a Review." Choose "notebooks" from the dropdown list, and then put in what features you want the laptop to have. There is also an option that let's you choose a maximum price.

Wow, that sound like a good idea. I think I'll try that if I lose the eBay auction.

---EDIT---

I could only afford an old Dell Inspiron, from back when they were really heavy. I'm just gonna go with eBay. Thanks anyway. PC World will still help me look at user reviews for good laptops.
