Alas, our trusty xbox 360 has been afflicted with the dreaded three red lights. We have yet to contact Microsoft, but the warranty seems to state that you can only get a repair if the red lights are displayed and another light on the console is red, orange or non-existant. Problem is, this particular light remains green on our console, so we now fear that we won't be eligible for repairs despite our console freezing games, screwing up the display and numerous other problems that are effectively destroying our console. So our console is broken, yet unrepairable. This seems like Microsoft being good to it's loyal customers. Who knows, it should be worked out in the end, but this seems like another case of warranties gone wrong.

If it feels good, it's a sin.

this isn't really a warranty gone wrong... if your normal warranty is up, then u only have the special RRoD (red ring of death) warranty, which you aren't applicable for because you don't have the RRoD.

just pay $100 and they will fix whatever other problem you have if it is out of the normal warranty.

Well surely there should be a standard 1-year (or whatever length) warrnatee that covers that the company is responsible for. (Like with computers your standard warantee may not cover accidental damage or software problems)

You get 1 year which covers all problems... But because the RROD was such a big problem it is covered for 3 years...

3 red rings means hardware failure. I had it.

Problem was fixed easy. My genius bro didn't push the harddrive in correctly, so it wasn't completely in place
