show us what you have... i personally just took a light source from photshop centered (normal omni lens flare) ... then made another in paintshop (yellow ball)

then radial burred with zoom the photo one... imported the paint one, and overlayed itto get a nice effect (i think with linear dodge)
then another layer which was pure yellow again another linear dodge.
Added a subtle cloud cover which was darked at like 5% just to add some light turbulance - then created another light ball in paintshop and combined it with a lens flare in paintshop and gausian blurred it output it in photo and made a duplicate b&w then put it back into paint combined the colour one with the current picture on an overlay just to add beams of light ... put it all into paint and used that to create an alphamap shrank to 256x256 and exported ready for a plain

Yeah - yellow blob ghosted on plain usually does the trick.

Stick it in your sky, make sure it's always pointing towards the player and, if possible, add some kind of lens flare effect so it looks more flashy.

Actually, if you're not bothered about 'borrowing' other people's stuff, the Unreal games have some pretty nifty coronas that you could snatch out of the editors.

Then again, you could always stick your sun straight onto your skybox. Both PSP and Photoshop have built-in light/lens flare generators, but PSP's is really naff. I'd recommend searching the net for the Axion lens flare and glow filters, because they're both very good.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Raven.
I was going to make an orb and stick a picture from clipart to it but your idea sounds much better.

Hi Dr DooMer. Don´t worry I´ve got nothing against borrowing stuff. Does the editor from Unreal 1 have these coronas as that´s the only Unreal game I´ve got.
Cheers

Yeah, it does - it was basically the original Unreal that started the whole corona thing.

Although, you might need to download the latest patch if you want to get the editor working - it's very buggy if you don't and probably won't even load!
