I think... not cheap. What OS are you bestowing upon it?

We can't help you if you don't give the correct details. The CPU fan could be made for any CPU.

Honestly, if you don't know hoe to build a PC, don't, you'll only mess up.

You should also get a PSU with at least 850 Watts.

Also, scrap Nvidia and go with the cheaper and better ATI brand, such as this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146415

You also need a Terabyte hard drive if you are a true gamer

Quote: "$1533"

WTF? That's pretty cheap... Back in the day I bought my dual core 2.4 ghz 2 gig ATI Radeon HD PRO 256MB for $1300

If someone says plz because it's shorter than please I say no because it's shorter than yes

I have a crappy comp now with a 250GB HD and I've barely used a fourth of it. All I've heard about ATI is that it's always slightly under NVIDIA. And I'm not building it, I'm getting it built from ibuypower.com.

Putting that aside, so 600W PSU isn't enough?

lol, are you kidding me. Unless he's running a disco he's not going to need anything remotely close to 850 watts.

The card needs only about 24 amps, nearly any 600watt power supply would do. Even in SLI I'm sure it'd suffice, but might be close on an sli setup.

Hurray for teh logd!

My advice is to shop around. I did saved £200 just by going to a different site. Don't use the frist site you come too. Also look to see is the site has a good history and is more than a year old. Doing your homework can save alot of money and heart ache.

I have a friend who order from a bad online site and had huge problems. He had no cpu fan, a none formated HD and no windows cd. One google check would have told him not to buy.

I build my computers. It sounds scary and hard at first but its very easy to do. The bonus is you get what you want and are not limited by sellers. The problem is the fact that you have one year warranty only.

I'll add something later on.

I wonder; why does my father's laptop have a 90W power supply when the equivalent desktop uses a 450W? Why is the wattage so high for desktops?

Nevermind, lol, I just discovered the HP d5000t series. It's everything I need and from a reputable company. Only downside is that it has a hideous case. Oh well, only cost $2357 with a Geforce 9800GT, Intel Quad 2.83ghz, 500Gb HD, and a 24" monitor!
