So I thought it would be cool to show off my band.

We just remodeled and re-recorded our first ever song and we are much happier with it now so if you have 12 minutes you should definitely check it out.

A few notes though.

- Ignore the bottom two songs, they are old and we are throwing them away, but feel free to listen to the old version for fun

- Excuse the quality haha I know it clips every once in a while but we got the recordings done free by a good friend of ours so we're happy. When we get a few more songs, we plan on getting near pro recordings done.

- If you have good subs, be sure to turn up the bass

If you listen then please let me know what you think!

I guess if the narration was actually audible it would be a little more enjoyable. Although I did like it.

ha yeah sorry we did that on purpose (kind of)

It is just a section of an astronomy book I have so it is really not important at all and is just there for some pretentious fluff.

When we get the recordings done that I talked about though,
we will make it more audible as we plan on writing a story to go along with the demo and using those periodic narrations to tell it.

It's good to see more progressive rock bands coming out I like how you have Portugal. The Man under your influences, hardly anyone I know has heard of them!

I would definitely suggest hitting up a professional recording studio to get your songs done. A lot of the ambience and feel is taken away from lack of headroom. Sometimes the drums seemed to fade away as well. But overall, it's really nice!

I too have a progressive rock band, a distance from Washington but not too bad. It's cool to see progressive rock sprouting all over the west coast.

And these words which I command you today shall be on your heart.

Awesome another band from the Seattle area!

You guys are sounding pretty good. Any shows booked like at places like KTUB, Ground Zero, or Vera. I'd try to come to one of your shows.I personally am in a local pop punk band up there. Good Luck

Duuuude I never thought I would hear KTUB or Ground Zero mentioned here thats awesome!

Ummmm we are really trying to get some shows soon but we only have 1.5 songs at the moment haha.

The good news is that when we play those songs back to back like we would live (including some jam time ),
we have about 30 minutes of material hahhaa so we are not far from being ready.

Yeah, Seattle has tons of good music Ever listen to Minus the Bear? They're pretty cool too.

We have a myspace, but all the songs are really old (2-3 years old) and its more rhythm progressive. http://www.myspace.com/phoenixophelia

I'll be sure to check those other bands out

Its not bad. I have never listed to progressive rock before so I dont really have any standards or know what to expect for a PR band.
So lets just go on the assumption that your is good.
They sound fine to me

That first track's sounding really good; I love a bit of post rock. It's sort of reminiscent of Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Keep us updated if you add any more songs.

Sounds really good viscera. Would agree with Saikoro would benefit from a professional recording studio. Only critic is the narration bits - sounds like someone not familiar with the work reading from a book (I guess from your earlier post this was the case?), I would suggest you try and familiarise yourself with it and speak it from memory.

ha yeah our bassist is reading from the book and although we had toyed around with a few passages at practice once or twice,
he had never even seen the piece that was read in the recording before that day.

Like I said earlier though,
when we get professional recordings done we will have an actual story so we plan on making sure it is both read well,
and understandable so that the listener can actually understand what the hell is going on.
