Anyone know why enemies refuse to follow waypoints, and instead play their animation in one spot? Even more weird, it refuses to play the sound unless I'm behind a wall. I've got this script:

Here's the map:

What happens is the character walks in place, and won't play it's sound unless I stand against the wall of the room I spawn in, not even the edge of the character's cell.

Hmm. Give me a little bit to think on this one.

This is more of what you want.

It could have something to do with the fact that one of your directories for the sound has a space in it. This may or may not cause a problem, but worth trying anyway.

I think that both ways would work fine, just refine you file paths more and that should do it like ply said.

Well, I forgot to post the screenshot of the map. :S Here it is:

Anyway, I figured out the answer to all of my waypoint problems... Pressing enter to lower an entity to the floor actually makes it a bit lower, therefore making it collide with the floor and not go anywhere, just play it's animation. However, if you don't press enter, then the character will be 100% fine.

However, I still can't get it to play the sound. The new script is this:

If I go to "C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\audiobank\ITS\Lv1\Inmate1WhatsYourProblem.wav," the file opens, but I don't hear anything in FPSC...

Well, there's your problem, you still need the in there. It should be this.

the\s tell the engine, and any other program where to "split" the names of directories, without them, than the sould would be all of that. Get the idea.

I did. The forums get rid of those because they're escape characters, which make punctuation things. For example, in C#, I can make a tab character using the backslash and t. Whatever programming language the forums are in probably support something similar. To get by this, you put two slashes instead of one, then edit your post and change nothing. However, if you edit it again, the slashes disappear.

What? I though we solved this already. You only need to fix up your path to your souns file

Nope. That was already fixed before you posted about it. It's just that the forums get rid of slash characters unless you do a bunch of stuff. The script had the slashes all along. I just forgot to trick the forums into putting the slashes in. Look at my post right below your last one.

Perhaps the sound is just way too quiet. You may be able to check this by changing your sound to "plrsound", to make it a 2D sound and play so that the player will always be able to hear it, no matter how far away they are.

I figured it out. I am within 2 segments of the guy when I spawn, so the sound happens before I even spawn...

Well, I am glad you solved it. Mistakes always turn out to be stupid ones.
