Hi,
Ok I am not 18 and am intending on selling stuff such as models on my site. Now I'm wondering is there a way to receive payment without being 18?
I check paypal and they require you to be 18 and google checkout requires a credit card. And as I don't have a credit card
Any advice. I don't want to use my Dads pay-pal as it would be confusing!

So any-one know of a service that doesn't require you to be 18 years of age?

I would get a debit card, then lock it in a safe so you couldn't use it whenever you wanted to

The only idea the comes to mind is nochex, have a look at the site and see if it's what you're looking for, I imagine the majority of online payment systems will require the user to be 18+ though.

Do they actually ask for proof of age? I set up a paypal account for use on ebay before I was 18 and it's still going fine today. Perhaps you could try setting one up and see if it works regardless of age?

Presumably anything that doesn't need an age 18 requirement will either be an illegitimate operation, or will require some confirmation from parents/guardian

At 18, you're actually not allowed to make any financial transaction with full legal validity at all - as far as I remember. Anything involving reasonable amounts of money will require parental confirmation. David R is right, at least as far as Dutch law is concerned.

Yeah I guess it really depends on your country's laws on the matter.

In America, 18 is considered adult and needs no parental confirmation for just about anything.

Anyways, as I am not quite 18 yet either, I use Visa Gift Cards.

Check them out

Aye, you can sign up for paypal or whatever, but your parents would be responsible until you turn 18.

IE, you should have no problem using paypal, or have your dad sign up a second account for your use.

According to paypal's terms, (last I checked years ago), you can have 2 paypal accounts, one for personal and one for business.

Hurray for teh logd!

Out of interest, isn't it against forum rules to post your age if under 18, and even to indicate that you are under 18? Pretty sure, thanks to those millions of "how old are you?" threads.

Cheers

Sounds like one of those 'Pay as you go credit cards' which I think are pretty handy, not spending money you don't have, plus they can be used online (I think. I have a Virgin one, though I haven't used it)

I have one, but it only allows you to use online. Not bad really as cannot be ripped off for more than you put on the card. When you get right down to it though, surely all it is is another account with the same bank that has less functionality than a proper account. They give you the reject if nothing left in account functionality (would just give you an overdraft in a normal account) over giving you nice things like interest.

Cheers

Oh thats great cause I don't think selling models would cause my parents to get in any trouble. My own models with my own textures of course

Well I don't know but isn't say posting about school saying you are under 18?

I used to sell models through paypal when I was 17.

It's called "Lie on the sign-up page". Not that hard of a concept.

I think these laws intended to protect people are too rigid; 15,16, yeah, but 18?

Locked.

Some of the members went too far in the end and I deleted your posts.

For the record, if you're under 18, don't post your age. Don't say you're "a few years" or "a lot of years" under 18, because we're not morons and neither are creepy people who might be interested in knowing that kind of detail. Use your brain.
