Hey all,

I'm here to beg you for your understanding. I'm trying to get a MySql database set up on my computer so I can play with CattleRustlers DLL. My problems are:

a) I have no previous experience with MySql except for making databases on Godaddy, which I doubt will help me much in the setup part

b) I have downloaded the installation .EXE, but when I run it, I get the attached window, I have never seen this before, and have no clue as to how to procede. I have seen other people who have installed this, and they have not gotten this window, so I'm a little stumped as to whats going on.

Any help would be great! If you need any more info from me such as specs, I would be happy to provide them!

Thanks,
-Sunflash

You'd be best off installing MySQL under Wampserver:

www.en.wampserver.com/

In addition to MySQL it'll give you PHP and Apache as well in a nice contained package, which will allow you to easily modify the database via browser if you need.

(The URL isn't working for me, probably temporary problem, if it doesn't work for you, try again in a little bit)

Hurray for teh logd!

If you don't need a server take a look at sqlite. There is a plugin here. The database engine is embedded in the plugin and a database is contained in a single file. Nice for playing about with a database as it's very easy to get running and you can easily copy the database files when testing.

By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike squeak that was indeed bothersome.
