Hello, and welcome to the meteorite scripting contest. This is a contest to give a fun way to help people learn how to script, or to kill time. As not to steal Ply's thunder, I suggest that you check out Ply's Scripting Challenges thread.

The deadline for the contest is August 31st

Your script can be for anything you want, and will be judged on:

Creativity: 20
Humor: 10
Ease of Use: 10
Practicality: 20
Innovativity: 40
Wanted: 10

Meaning:

Is it creative/original?
Is it funny?
Is it easy to set up and use?
Is it useful?
Have we seen it before?
Has it been wanted for a long time?

Judges:

1. Meteorite
2. Plystire
3. Hybrid
(We have all the judges we need at this time)

Prizes:

Class System

Entrants:
1. Clock Work (Animated Menu)

If you wish to judge, or donate a prize, contact me at chickendoughnut1209@gmail.com

Also, if it comes to light that you copied someones work without consent, you will be disqualified.

-edit-

State which version of fpsc/mod you are using.

You can only have one entry, but you can submit up to three scripts that work together.

Why, this is no contest. This is merely a way to develop some powerful scripts and challenge each other in the process. Besides, this is not your or anyone's thread. This is Ply's and only he has the right to ask to change the name of it.

Can we use a mod for this?

EDIT: Is it just one script? Or can I have a few that work together with variables?

I think that you should have only one entry, but it can be as complex as you would like, since mine is extremely complex.

Alright, I'll edit my first post with the new info, but ill post it here too. Make your script for use without a mod, because I'm sure many people do not know how to use mods, and therefor have a disadvantage having to use just normal fpscreator, because we all know of the fact that mods are better (no offense lee) because they have pretty little extra features. I will say one entry, but I will count up to three interacting scripts as an entry.

I don't think Mod users would have that great of an advantage over non-Mod users. Both Mods and the official updates have their own "unique" additions now.

Anyway, enough arguing the point, this sounds interesting, but it'd be even more interesting to see you accurately judge the scripts when they have no single thing in common.

I'll be lurking in the background for this one.

sure, looks cool.

Oh btw, will entrants please email me scripts to chickendoughnut1209@gmail.com? In email, please include whether or not you would like the script released to the public (for those that want it released to the public, I will release them in a pack together for free, with credit given properly)

I guess I could be a possible judge.

I'll try to make it, but can't make any guarantees.

alrighty, Hybrid and Ply are now both judges, I was hopin to get you guys, you seem quite experienced.

-edit- btw Clock Work, is the download in your forum the release of your script that you want judged?

While I'm typing, here's how judging will work.

All of the judges (which I think we have enough of now) will judge every script using the points system I explained in the first post. For every script, the points of all 3 judges will be added up, determining the winner... And we are NOT using a golf scoring system

Because the FPSC community is devoid of any practical scripting capabilities who deam themselves worthy of being in a scripting competition?

EDIT:
That, and there are no prizes yet.

That doesn't seem very fair to those who ONLY use Mods.

Lol, just an observation.

I would be fine with allowing free mods, (nothing like lemur) as long as the mod is stated and what parts of te script require the mod. This is only my imput.
