Baggers - he's a classmate of a flatmate I had last year at uni, so basically I met the guy in my own kitchen.

Higgins - he came to the open day at our uni and I helped show him around.

Razorwind (Hardly counts, he made 2 posts, but he's an FPSC user) - Classmate

everyone who attended the convention in 2005 and 2007, + a few people from the devhat IRC network which runs all the unofficial TGC related chatrooms, i cant remember which of them have been forum members though, so i'll name the ones who i know for a fact are/were members here:
tyrain dreams/eddie gordo - 2 weeks ago
aura - start of this summer
jrowe - used to go to school with
adr - works near my uni
mikey - lives near by uni

no doubt i'll bump into lagmaster soon as i just moved in near him, and also ravey again for the same reason. planned on meeting eoin this summer but it may not happen :/

El_goorf - start of this summer; we had indian.
Jimmy - roughly a year ago. Was an awesome two weeks!
Scarleck - You've probably never heard of him but back when the Team Requests board existed I joined a team that he started and we made some neat little projects. We had lunch at McDonalds once and discussed future projects.

Almost forgot; I have a good friend who I went to school with who registered as 'Murder of Ravens', he made a few posts before telling me he was banned for his name. He didn't even know who Raven was... I lawled.

Hmm... Batvink, Scraggle, Green Gandalf, IanM, El Goorf, Lee, Paul, Rick V, Richard Davey, Ravey, Mike Johnson, just to name a few. It was sort of an 'Official TGC Convention' type of thing.

university? perhaps... it seems to be more UK slang

More on topic though, I haven't met anyone, although I would really like to get out to one of the official conventions, things are just a little pricey now, and money all the more valuable

EDIT: Could also be unicycle

That's because Icelandic people are too cool for school, TGC is not 'worthy' in the eyes of the Icelanders...I think, though Eg Heitir Seppuku is probably the only Icelandic I remember, my Old Icelandic Norse is better - Ek a hest ok sinn heitir Geirr. Olafr Konungr tekr sinn brand ok hann depr Geir. Currently nothing worth engaging a chat to a Viking about, unless he's interested about my horse's brutal attack by King Olaf.

Green Gandalf is twice important as everybody else, his name must be indoctrinated upon the people ignorant of his existence.

Hahaha, that made me laugh Seppuku, funny you should mention Ólaf konung. I was going to write something back to you with old grammar thingy and i open up my gunnlaugs saga book, and on the first line it reads "þá kvað gunnlaugur drápuna er hann hafði orta um ólaf konung." I see you write words like Olafr, drepr and tekr, those words are supposed to be written like Olafur, drepur, and tekur, my icelandic story teacher told me they wrote stuff like that to save space and ink back when the stories were written. But the way you write it like they wrote looks way cooler.

i'll continue the discussion about king olaf killing your horse, i'll try to keep it old-school .

Quote: "

I didnt realise i wrote a story, not words that are discussion (yes, gramar) untill i finished writing all this.. ah well, it might be fun for those who understand

Yeah I'm learning from a couple of books on Old Norse and that's how they're written in there, probably make sense because those books were designed to help people translate Old Iceland/Norse texts. Hence Geir Zoega's dictionary only has Old Icelandic-English (and not the other way round)

As for the Saga, interesting, I just picked out King Olaf because that seems to be a stereotypical name to call a Norse-man, I've not got that Saga, but I do have Njal's saga and the Vinland Sagas - been meaning to read them properly, but I have so many bloody books to read, but I managed to get through the Edda.

With your continuation, er...I'll get back to you on that (it's a little advanced for me), I don't know enough, but there words I understand and can almost make sense of a couple of sentences - something abouts Seppukus, Kings, Horses and Wizards.

Cheers.

What more can I say?

I've met the same people that Cash mentioned (plus him of course ) plus a few Mnemonix mentioned from the unofficial 2006 convention - which I'm sure should include TEH CODERER ???

Mnemonix - you must remember TEH CODERER !! He won the coding compo - and lugged his whole PC to the convention! But he was masquerading under a different name then, of course.

Scraggle and Green Gandalf both have 2 Gs, which is probably a big enough similarity for a pea-based cooling entrepreneur to accidentally put one in twice, and not the other.

None. However, I do talk over the phone with several members. I live in California (USA), and as far as I know, the closest person to me is Alquerian, whom I haven't spoken to in a while.

I'd enjoy meeting several members in person, however. Would be nice to actually speak, face to face, with some of my internet friends, such as Grandma and Kieran.

Cheers,
