Not sure how many of you have seen it yet, but I was dragged to the cinema yesterday and they had a preview showing of this.

As I always enjoy Pixar movies, thought might be alright.
Now while I usually like Pixar movies; usually there aren\'t really something particularly special. I mean they\'re cool but often have the finger-prints of Disney all over them like a rash.

WALL•E actually surprised me, because it was quite different from the usual stuff you\'d expect from both Disney and Pixar. Although it is quite children friendly, the whole disney-ness of it all doesn\'t really kick-in until near the conclusion of the film.

The ending also isn\'t quite the usual affair, although yeah they kinda have a \"happy\" ending; it is very touch\'n\'go for a while that really make it better. I think this movie really benefits from the majority of it focused almost entirely on WALL•E himself and his pet cockroach just going about their usual routine.

The other half is where the action takes place, and it\'s really cool you see through the personalities of both WALL•E and his \"love\" interest EVA despite them only ever really saying a single word (mainly being the others name)

Overall, I\'d say if you get a chance to go see this.. do so, it\'s one of the best films to come out of Pixar; and definately Disney in a long long time. I can see WALL•E becoming a nice little icon like ET or Johnny 5 were back in the 80s. In-fact there is some very definate influences from the Short Circuit films.

It was also awesome to see a garbage cube version of an american metropolis

I liked it, even though there was no dialog for the first 45min. It felt more like one of those cool anime shorts you see from Pixar.

I loved it. My girlfriend loved it even more, she said it was the bst movie she had ever seen. Wall-E is awsome.

I loved the movie too! It also reminded me why I'm going to love going into Computer Animation (Second year into the animation program so far...).

Plus I scored points for bringing the girlfriend

I have to agree with Keo C. But still, I really enjoyed the movie.

Haha, I liked how...

One thing that's annoying is that everyone in my family has started saying "in a cup" after offering someone food. Ex: "Wold you like a grilled cheese sandwich... in a cup?" lol.

Actually I got the impression that the whole "survival" aspect of the film was actually a background story. Really the main focus was around WALL•E and EVA.

(spoiler)

That's what I find really good about the movie too, despite the story involving the humans themselves; realistically speaking, just doesn't revolve around them any more than it needs to in order to keep the actual plot moving.

I liked this movie. Alot. Although, I think I liked the Bunny short before the movie better, that thing was funny as all get out.

This is my WIP, not even ready for a WIP thread yet though.http://smallgroupproductions.com/

Brilliant film.
Clear HAL reference with the ship's wheel too (AUTO isn't a copy of GLaDOS - GLaDOS is copying HAL)

Exactly what I thought, especially when he started watching the TV/videos (as well as his appearance too)

It was an OK film, technically brilliant, although the storyline wasn't the best I've seen from them.

I was expecting to hear "Number 5 is alive!" all the way through, the voice-effect was definitely modelled on Short Circuit.

I think it's probably a knock-on effect, i.e.

HAL > GLaDOS > Auto

Especially the appearance of Auto, and his personality is less about having conflicting orders; and more about his own personality shining through for how he carries them out.

HAL for the most part, might've been influence; but there is a very clear divide in personality and reasoning between each of these AI characters.

On that point though, you seen that Portal Still Alive is due out over the next few months can't wait.

AUTO is clearly closer in personality to HAL than GLaDOS.

Not as good as you might think, this so called "sequel" is just a map addon pack for Xbox Live Arcade, it doesn't have any story or any voice overs (Sorry, no GLaDOS)

Not a sequel, just an added mode, right? There aren't even any new maps, I heard.

The only thing that desturbed me with this movie is the following:

(spoilers)

Other then that, it´s one of the most awsome movies ever.
