I love mIRC, just the nag screen is getting old and I'm a greedy bastard whos tight with his money. Does anyone know of a free alternative with approximately the same features?

I'll try out xchat, I had chatzilla before but I didn't really like it.

@Benjamin: Thanks for the list but I was looking for personal opinions/recommendations. I have done my research, unfortunately I didn't find what I wanted.

xchat is fantastic, but turns out it isnt free :X Ill have to try some of the unofficially compiled versions

I use Bersirc its a good one. Try it out.

The win32 build has never been free. It even says "30 day trial" on the page you linked to

Pidgin supports IRC, it's really good and I've used it for the past year or so.

Ill have a look at pidgin and bersirc, but to tell the truth I like xchat so much more than mIRC im actually considering buying a license

its hardly a month old. I appreciate his contribution, kvirc is quite interesting. I forgot to uninstall the trial version of xchat, so when I installed the free version they clashed and now neither works, dropping me back to mIRC.
