That has to be one of the best lines ever. I also loved all of the riddlers riddles in the old movie, they're so ridiculous.

About the new movie, I completely agree with pretty much everything that's been said. It has to be the must see of the summer. I think that the joker was the best villain i've seen in almost any movie, Ledger pulled off a phenomenal performance in it.

@Seppuku - Having Robin in there would be extremely difficult, his character i think just wouldn't fit into the darker world that's portrayed here. It would take a very well written script, a really really good actor for robin, and probably quite a few plot turns to make it work, and even then there will probably be some who complain anyway.

I think Robin could work out, but not so much as Batman's sidekick, but perhaps as more of a vigilante trying to help but Batman refuses to accept him, but I don't know.

It probably would ruin it the more I think about it.

Lets think about it, can they top Dark Knight? If they can, no Robin.

Or will they push a good idea too far and ruin it? If they are likely, put in Adam West's sidekick, Robin - I mean if they end up ruining it may as well have a source of entertainment.

Though I doubt they'd ruin it, but they should always have a contingency plan.

Rushing people.... THE RUSSIANS!

Anyway... I thought the movie was great. IGN is reporting that the next one will have the Penguin (Phillip Seymore Hoffman) and as discussed before, the Riddler (Johnny Depp). Personally, I feel that Depp would make a good Riddler because Depp is whacked like that.

Did anyone hear about Morgan Freeman?

But yeah, I'd like to see the Penquin return, but Danny DeVito was a good Penquin, and I don't agree I think Jim Carrey would be better to play as the riddler seeming as he done a good job on it in a Batman film before.

I don't think Jim Carrey would be as good in these Batman movies, plus he annoyed me a bit as the riddler - plus I'm generally not a fan of his acting anyway, except in a couple of less 'over the top' movies.

I actually really like him in the more serious movies he does (Like Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, The number 23 etc.) and also in some of his comedies.
And I think he did a great job as the riddler in Batman Forever (I think it was that one right?) but he probably wouldn't fit in in this series. Johnny Depp fits a lot more as he does have that kind of dark side to his acting (Sweeny Todd was great by the way! )

Jim Carrey was good in his more serious movies, yes, but his crazy is too 'fun' and over the top for these Batman movies and his serious side don't suit it either either...or at least in my opinion.

Johnny Depp has experience in characters with psychotic or sociopathic tendancies and does them quite well and would be a better Riddler in these more serious, darker Batman movies.

Johnny Depp=Best possible actor to play the riddler. (IMO)
Honestly, I can't think of anyone better suited for the role.

If the good lord had intended us to go outside or have a social life, he wouldn't have invented the internet.

Well, there are too many things that can go wrong with the next movie, but the writers they have onboard right now are very talented, so I don't think they will screw it up. Personally, I think that they might have Gordon's kid become Robin. They need to adapt the old characters to the new dark setting, and somehow make it seem more exciting than the last movie (which is going to be very hard).

I definitely see Johnny Depp as the Riddler, and you know what? If Philip Seymour Hoffman does the Penguin, then I have no doubt it will be cool. I just hope the writers supply him with a good script...

But think about this: If the third one is just as awesome as the Dark Knight, where could they possibly go with it? Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze? I'm not feeling the love.


EDIT: It would actually be kinda cool if they incorporated Batzarro, but only if they did it right.

And instead of Robin, what about Nightwing? That would be kinda lame if they skipped Robin and went right to Nightwing, though.
