Hi, I've come along way with my game project and I've run into another wall. I can't get the animations correct. I'm having a bones issue. I'm not sure if its me or the conversion program, Panda Exporter. When I animate with bones and export them to .X files and play the animation its all screwed up. I'm seriously puzzled.

Can someone explain the process for using bones, skin, max, and what not. Are there any limits on the amount vertices or something. I don't have any examples because I'm at work and I don't think it would help. The animation is just screwed up and the mesh just goes crazy. I searched the forum also. I attached every vertex giving everyone weight. I'm just puzzled.

Could someone help. I should be able to do everything in Max and I really don't fill like learning or buying a new program.

You can do everything with max. What I do is I use the physique modifier. It works perfectly. I never got the skin modifier to work with pandasoft.

Also, you need to hide all the bones before you export, this ensures that the bones don't show up inside you game.

I think that physique has a limit to how many bones effect how many verts, but I don't remember exactly, maybe up to three.

Are you using the biped structure or your own bones?

I use Bones with Skin. Physique seems more complex, maybe because I don't know how to use it but it your telling me it will work I will learn it. I'm not using Biped.

I use physique all the time to create my fpscreator characters. I've never used it for any custom bones, however, I've only ever used it with the biped structure. But I'm certain it'll work.

Physique is really quite simple. It's all in the tutorial section: help>>tutorials then type in "physique" in the search bar, and go to the first tutorial that pops up "Applying the Physique Modifier". That should be it.
