I am a new user of Dark Basic Pro.
I have no knowledge of game scripts, coding etc.

Any hint where to start?
Is there some pdf or manual, book, which will teach me the steps to make my first game?

I don't think that the help file in Dark Basic covers any thing for a new beginner such as my self.

A script base which tells me how to call objects, load the game, and all other things which is crusial to make a game work, is what I am looking for.

Do any of you guys know where to find such help?
I use 3D World Studio for my 3D Objects, and no problems there.
It is the dark basic scripting I don't know about.
I have never scripted any thing in my life, be it games, and, or programs.

If you have more than one help source, please advice those asw ell

Yea I know about the guide which comes with DBP but it gives a error at line 71 and 76.

I copy and pasted the codes, and they look fine, but do not work

Will have a look at the forum as well.

Dark Basic is a programming language. LUA is a scripting language. There is a free version of LUA in the program announcements board.

To get started, I recommend going through the tutorials, going through examples and studying the command set.

Also, before you make a thread with a programming question, first use the search button on the bottom of the page because your question has most likely been asked before, especially if your just starting out. This will save time and trouble for everyone.

If your interested in making 3D first person or RPG games, click on the profile button under this post and search for a thread I made called Walking on Terrain. It was very helpful for me learning

Hope that gets you started

...google is always a helpful source. look at and master core commands like if/then, do/loop, arrays, for/next, functions, subroutines. after you understand the basics, get into more advanced things such as graphics and using external media stuff. look at the code snippets and experiment/pick apart other peoples code. this is the best way to learn in my opinion. if all else fails, come to the forums and we can help you understand whatever it is you need. (...although not always guaranteed. )
