Newcomers DBPro Corner / still can't load map

I type
LOAD BITMAP "map.bmp",1
and it says runtime error 1003 could not load map.bmp... this is my first line of by the way. help. The map is in a folder do i have to type the foldernamethen /map.bmp?
if not then what am i doing wrong

Firstly, you started a completely new post on the same subject rather than continue with your original one. Please don't do that.

Secondly, you didn't look at the tutorials - I know it sounds boring, but without understanding the basics, you are going to find this very frustrating.

Thirdly, yes - you need the folder name as part of the string.

Maybe, but what's the difference between loading a bitmap and loading an image apart from the way you use them AFTER you've loaded them?

Anyway, did you get the bitmap or image to load?

Nope still get runtime error message: could not load image, and same with the load map - can't load map, i really don't know whats wrong, and I can't find the link for the tutorials. I am trying them both as first lines of code, is there nothing that needs to go before them?
