i may have downloaded the wrong one, run exe doesn't work, and debug says I haven't installed direct x (i downloaded and installed 9.3 and then some other numbers)

Well, that was a trip and a half. How the heck did MS manage to stuff up their own website so badly? I lost count of the number of clicks needed to get the right one.
