I've never played Brawl and it might be a very long time before I do. I LOVED the original smash brothers. But I HATED the second one. Captain Falcon was my best character. In the second one they didn't make him as good and it made me so mad. Grabbing and throwing people was powerful in the first one and Falcon was so quick to do it. But they made it horrible in the second one.

Anyways, I would like to play this game but I won't for a while.

Ness is always a fun character to play but I'm terrible with him lol.

They weakened alot of characters in Melee, don't worry about it, they fixed it in Brawl.

Actually they weakened Samus a bit, but she's still my favorite character. Other than her I like Kirby and Pikachu. I don't really use or plan to use anyone else Haven't even tried all the characters in Melee not to mention the new ones in Brawl. Hahahaha.

I'm good as nearly all of them, I WILL NOT play as some of them though, just because of their stupidity level. (cough Lucas cough) (cough Luigi cough)

Mr Game and Watch ftw. I mean, he's just awesome on every level. Also, I play with the retro controller.

Then Toon Link.

Toon Link rapes face. His down A and up A are probably a little rigged, but it's okay. He's fast, and his arsenal of attacks are very good and, if used right, interrupt the attackers attacks as well as providing a constant annoyance of projectiles.

In the early SSB games, I played as Kirby.

I'm best with bowser (but then again who isn't? =P), but my favorite character is Sonic...quite a few of my friends who own the game tell me I do quite well with Sonic.

I mostly play Pikachu, due to his speed and down+2 attack. I also prefer to use Ike, and a variety of other characters. One thing I don't like is using one character over and over again, I like to use random a lot

I owned the game, played it for 10 minutes, got sick of it. and sold it to some guy for 5 bucks. as it aint worth more.

Its boring, the story is explained in the most horrific way ever, they let you figure out everything from cutscenes which make little sense, and the gameplay is repetitive and crappy.

The controls are weird, the graphic styles mixed together look awfull and the whole presentation is evil. Really, the only good part this game had, was the EXIT button.

To be honest, this doesn't apply to the topic, they asked what peoples favorite Brawl character was, not if they liked the game or not.

Its still partially on the subject, I said in a non-direct way, that I have no favourite character in it. Because I dislike the game.

I played the game (Brawl, got Melee) for the first time yesterday and was disappointed that they'd altered Marth. I only won once in six hours of Brawl, so now I just play as DeDeDe and throw Waddle Dees everywhere whilst proclaiming their greatness in an odd German accent. I suppose every character is different now they made the odd choice to use Havok.

I usually play Pikachu. I always have. I just think he's a fun character, and I'm not too bad as him. Problem is, my friend just started playing zelda, and its like she's made just top kill pikachu. Din's fire completely neutralizes Pikachu's recovery. I try to quick attack back onto the stage, and he just blasts me back off.

Edit:
Is it just me, or do the shields in brawl SUCK? they constantly fail on me and my friends everyti9me we play. I can't count how many times I've gotten hit with my shield up...

Yes, I do sidesteps and dodgerolls. I meant that when I DO use sheilds, they are PHAIL. So has anyone else had this problem with shields?

Does it synchronise the game's memory or something? Must be dead slow. I suppose if you knew the right memory addresses, you could just sync the necessary data a la San Andreas Online.

It just gets hosters screen and every player keystrokes. Easy because the game is all players on one screen game.

How could that be playable when (at least here) the average game ping is 250-350msec, sometimes more? I can understand playing puzzle/RPGs at that datarate, but it must be absolutely painful playing Smash Bros. over it. You can't be getting over 10fps for video if you're seeing the host's screen. Brawl online is bad enough as it is. (At least here in the UK, and we have the suckiest internet EVER.) I imagine it would work well over LAN, but what would the point of that be?

Its not slow for me atleast trust me.. Not sure if it gets the screen but the dev told that atleast it gets only the keystrokes.

I've always played as pikachu, never left that path. Except for when I played as fox and falco for awhile, then mario. And then Mr. Game and Watch. But I have always played as pikachu no one else.

It's Pit. I hate Pit. My favorite is Ness, I love using his Up-B to get the smash balls, and his baseball bat and yoyo are awesomeeeeeee.

Wolf is my best but I also play Sheik, Pit, and Snake. Wolf just owns. My friends play as Zelda and she just annoys the crap out of me because her dins fire got upgraded a ton since melee.

I know I HATE Din's fire. If zelda gets you up in the air, she can pretty much ensure you don't get back on the stage with a few well-placed shots. It is soooo cheap!

Not with DeDeDe!

Up+B = wah-hey!

Oh, look, I've landed square on Zelda's head.

My Favorite brawl character is "Shocked Man"

But seriously.

Is brawl any good?
I was a huge fan of the original Super Smash brothers (N64 - I always played as Pikachu).
I was considering purchasing it, but I am stuck between Brawl and the new Mario kart.
Anybody played them both?

Go with Brawl, the AI is annoying in the Wii Mario Kart.

I still think Mario Kart 64 and the the 64 version of Smash Brothers were the best.

As for topic of the thread, I usually go Pikachu, Link, and Toon Link in Brawl.
