Hi,

My friend's father has told me that there is a widespread amount of viruses and security hacks going around the pages of the interent. He told me one identifiable one - a YZ formula virus which hacks into the security mainframe of PayPal and other worldwide services, and attempts to destroy the account. This one, the YZclv.dll, hacks the main computer's passwords and details, and attempts to gain passwords/usernames/emails from a word source. The only way to detect it is through a special virus scan system known as PrevX CSI. You can download it here: http://www.prevx.com/freescan.asp it uses the main WINDOWS setup files as a detection source to maintain stability of the scanner and the accuracy. When I run it, I happened to find a virus known as: yzclv.dll, and was classified as a "fraudulent security program". Now, the main way to clean the file up is to buy PrevX, but although you may use another paid virus program, such as Norton 360, they will not fix the problem. It will just detect it and ignore it. So, I may buy the full PrevX program and see how it goes, I'll tell you guys along the way. Please tell me if any of you have received this.

Thank you,
First Company Veteran

P.S: Attached is a screenshot of the PrevX result.

The answer: Don't listen to those online ads saying they have detected 100+ viruses on your computer. They lie.

Agreed. How many online scanners are there that tell you they've found malware and ask you to pay for software to remove it?

It wasn't an online ad, it was from PrevX, and I trust them. Maybe you haven't received it yet, but you will do, you will do.

Perhaps it's just paranoid. I agree Oneka.

You know, this whole thread sounds like and advert for PrevX.

Umm no? Don't think that just because you got a virus for downloading something, everyone else in the world will, there are actually some people who can stay away from viruses ya'know.

EDIT:

Quote: "So I guess its all the pronz you look at"

Well since that is probably one of the bigger reasons people get viruses () that's probably true

Run a decent anti-virus solution and you won't do, you won't do.

More than 15,000 new viruses are created and released every single day, and I never need worry about a single one of them (thanks Nod!)

If Google finds 0 results concerning "yzclv.dll", it's a fake!

There was a problem recently discovered with the DNS which could allow people to launch a man in the middle attack, and then use the update feature in software to install malicious code. But most ISPs should have patched against it by now.

Seriously if your getting 650 virus a day you need to:

1) Install a decent virus scanner and firewall.

2) stop browsing porn.

Hmm, you got fooled by that? Stupid... There is no info on that "virus", and if that is the only scanner that "knows" it, the scanner itself is probably the virus.

Agreed, running decent/recommended paid Internet Security like Kaspersky keeps things secure - it's worth paying £20 a year, when you think about it. Though I say no to Norton, never had a good experience, never heard of anyone who has, techies I know hate it and don't recommend it.

But that number of viruses a day? Well I sincerely doubt the sites I visit regularly are virus prone - TGC being one of them. To get that many, you'd be visiting some pretty dodgey sites, such as porn, illegal sites, rom sites etc.

This thread reminds me of a 'computer destorying virus' my Dad told my sister, one that she wasn't allowed on the internet for...of course complete and utter rubbish...didn't exist.

Process library knows all.

EDIT: but not yzclv.dll...

I use norton, it slows down my pc like heck but is a beast at kicking serious virus butt!

Did PC World sell you it with a computer? Believe me it sucks, get avast or avg + comodo or zonealarm, better protection without the price tag.

No, we bought the full pro edition and I'm not gonna buy another virus program unless it's good (well, my dad bought it) I'm happy enough with Windows Fiirewall, PrevX CSI, Norton 360, Symantec Virus scanner and UniBlue RegistryScanner.

A lot of teens look at it when they're growing up...it's natural to get hormones...it can help to 'relieve' those tensions. Those who subscribe and pay lots of money and have hard drives full of it...then yes, sex addicted freaks, but it's only natural to...well...you know. It's all perfectly normal, especially when you're going through puberty.

It's probably better that you didn't know. Anyway, ontopic now, a google search tells me nothing about the virus (other than your thread), it seems funny that there's nothing on any computer protection sites about it.

Right...the virus, not a bloody clue - try different removal programs? I've got Kaspersky and it's doing a bloody good job, for £30 a year it's not bad - paying money for internet security isn't such a bad thing - it's all there in one app and updates itself very frequently.

I don't even think it's a virus, apparently prevX has a lot of false positives. Just run spybot search and destroy or something, that'll get rid of it in 10 minutes.
