Bah, I despised the fifth movie. I thought the book was fine, but after the fifth movie I'm not sure I want to see anymore of harry potter.
My least favorite part of any of the movies was the end to the third, where harry gets the firebolt and the movie ends. I had this big WTF moment, and it kind of ruined the whole rest of the movie for me. My second least favorite part was the whole department of mystery scene in the 5th movie. It was so much worse than what the book described I thought... I guess I should appreciate it from an artistic viewpoint, but even that I felt was far worse than what was described in the book. I guess having read all the books three or four times, I always feel a huge letdown when something I found awesome in the books is replaced by something awful in the movies. I could care less about them leaving out parts of the books, but so often scenes are changed to make less sense and have more action... bah. Third most hated part was when Dumbledore shouted at all the students in the courtyard in the fifth movie. I much preferred the original Dumbledore, shame he died.
Well... I'll give this one a chance. I'm not sure I'll go to see it, but I'll at least see what people say about it. The sixth book is probably my favorite, and unless they screw up the climax I can't imagine them getting it wrong. Then again, I kind of expect them to.
What'd be really cool is if they just skipped that scene and instead just wrote across the screen
