They say theres going to be another windows called Blackcomb or Vienna do you think it's going to be as good as xp?

Because in my opinion I think it's going to suck even more then vista and bill gates should start selling xps again.

what a stupid stupid thing to say, your oppinion on "winsows 7" is based on nothing. and have you even used windows vista? well if you did, and if you had enough computer knowlegde not to blame the os for everything you do wrong, or not understanding; you'd have a different oppinion on vista.

i dont understand some people's attitude towards vista, is progress bad? should everything just stay the way it is?

Vista is quite good as long as your computer meets the system requirements.

The "They say" in that sentence shows lack of knowledge on the subject.

1( I don't think you've used Vista before. If you had, you would know it's not that bad at all. I love it.

2( If by "They say" you mean "There are even leaks of it. It's official.", then yes. That is correct.

3( No, it will be better than Vista. It will basically be Vista but faster with a few new features.

I work for a debug/localisation company and yesterday we were told we would be getting Windows 7 and Office 14 some time next month. Not sure what happened to Office 13, I'm pretty sure that 2007 was Office 12

So, some time next month, I might be able to tell you something about it. Although I'm pretty sure the NDA will stop me telling you the juicy bits

My grandfather had a copy of Office 2008. It was probably a fake being a tenner, but it is awful. It suffers from Vista syndrome, looking really nice and shiny, being slow as hell (even on the dual-core 1.8gHz with 2Gb of RAM he has) and being totally reorganised for no apparent reason seemingly at random. Oh, and it has a slightly better auto-shape system.

ASUSTek Eee PC 701 4G Black - Celeron M @630mHz - 512Mb RAM - 32Mb Shared Intel GMA 900 - Windows XP Home SP1 - No antivirus/firewall.
And it still boots quicker than any other laptop I've seen.

I think that was Mac only, because there was an office 2008 released for mac http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.mspx and office 2007 (12) was the windows version.

I think Win7 will either go very well or very badly. Hopefully the lukewarm response to Vista will have shaken up M$'s assumptions about what people want (and hopefully they'll listen more to try and please consumers + enterprises, rather than spearheading unwanted tech.)

Windows 7 is based on Windows Vista, all they're doing is taking on more usability features such as multi touch and new ways of interacting with the computer.

No, that's all they've said so far. I somewhat doubt that is all they're doing. Remember, all the new Windows builds start off looking + acting like the one before them. They tend to change drastically towards the end (look up the early builds of XP, for example)

They're probably trying out some new features using an OS based on vista. Then they will write the actual OS from something completely different, using the new features.

They say it will come wrapped in tree bark and will be available in 2 versions; legal or pirated. The first 25 people to buy a copy in each country will get a free bucket-o-lard. Sources say that Minesweeper is one to keep your eyes on, apparently something big is planned.

Scraggle your my good friend, and when you get that Windows 7 we're going to have a nice long chat!

Seriously Bill Gates is gone from Microsoft, he doesn't work there any more, so it's going to be hard for him to start selling XP again. Also you would find if you actually used Vista that it's a pretty good OS if you meet the system requirements!

Next time back up your 12 year old comments, or even better don't bother commenting!

They should seriously start selling XP again, I like it better than Vista (gaming purposes).

Vista is a fine OS I <3 it, but this post is real because I know a microsoft employee and if you are a guest entering the company you have to sign a waver not to leak anything you might hear about windows 7

The last time I heard someone say that he turned out 9 years old and was banned 2 days later.

You have an odd way of starting a funny thread by the way.

Oh, and you talk like a 12-year old.

I'm>12 as for the way your saying that I'm not quite sure if your rubbing it in my face or just telling me.

To all
The least you guys could do is stop flaming this tread.

To mods
Could you guys lock this? it's turning into a flaming war.

No you're thinking that it's turning into a flame war when in fact, people are just pointing out obvious facts, such as, the fact that you act like a >12 year old and talk like one. That's not flaming, that's simply pointing out facts.
That seems to be your main instinct (Wrong expression for it I know) that, when someone starts according to you "talking bad" about you you take it as flame, and that it is not.
Sorry, and this is not flame either, this is pointing out quite obvious facts that seem to have slipped past that little mindbox of yours.

Thanks for pointing out that out

I'd appreciate it if you guys would stop doing that. And let this tread die. And I'd also appreciate it if the mods would lock this because I find some of the comments hurtful.
