Does anyone know how long the post approval period lasts for new forum users?

I ask because its really quite annoying, and the posts I make do not end up on the forum (there are 2 I made several days ago and they werent approved, and I assume erased.

It depends on your actions. If all your posts meet the AUP standards, you should be out of n00b status relatively quickly. If they are bad posts, (flaming, trolling, violating the AUP) you may be there for quite some time. It all depends on you.

...but I am the ferret king!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! tremble before my ferret minions!

Yeah it is quite annoying to be in the "noob" session of the forums, I remember when I was still in it, [mod edit] me off a bit, but it's all for a good cause. Even though it seems like a lot of trolling still slips through it for some reason.

there isn't a definite time period. It depends on the amount of posts that get approved - every time you get 1 post approved, you are 1 step closer to being off it. (sounds like some dreadful loyalty card doesn't it? "Every £10 you spend will buy you a FREE can of beans!*

Ha ha,

Well I dont think I was trolling, or violating any rules.

My very first message was posted, then the second message was simply replying (with a further inquiry) to the people that answered my question.

The third was replying to someone who said they had problems with a few 3D editing progs running slow.

Unless the mods have a high number of posts to approve and mine simply got lost in the pile

At least I hope that was it lol

Unfortunately a moderator isn't hear 24/7 (some might consider it fortunate). My pet hate is spammers who just driver by a forum an post referral links. Makes me want to hunt them down and use their skin to make array of matching clothes.

Oh and hi Quantum Fusion, we're a pretty nice bunch here, just don't go posting stupid threads and spamming team requests=and we'll all get on nicely.

Ha ha. You're not a GameFAQs user, are you? 'Cause even worse than people wanting to profit from referral links are people who have no purpose in life other than to steal other people's user accounts and get them banned.

They are the worst kind of Internet user - the ones who do real damage.

Hey, Anonymous User, wasn't it you who posted that monty python song about spam in some thread somewhere else that got locked. That was so funny, how appropriate.

What's even worse at GameFAQs is when people troll the boards of games they hate... If you don't like a game why spend so much time posting about it?

When I first joined it seemed like I was on post approval forever, probably because I didn't post that much...

Eh, personally, I think people like TRC and Gavirulax are much worse than Dash_Jr or Butters_1188.

But, that's just me.

I haven't been on these boards in the last couple of days. I tried to make a post just a minute ago, and it appeared instantly.

Go figure. About 5 days or so posting on the site. Then, I leave for two days, and my account gets upgraded.
