Hey guys/gals,

Firstly, let me say I am LOVING DBPro, great job.

Secondly, I have read through the help files, but I can't seem to figure out how to work out how many files there are in a directory.

Could anyone hand me some pointers?

If you want a count, you have to step through all files/directories in the current directory:

+ Code Snippet

FileCount = 0
DirCount = 0

cd "c:\"

find first
while get file type() >= 0
   if get file type() = 0
      inc FileCount
   else
      if get file name$() <> "." and get file name$() <> ".."
         inc DirCount
      endif
   endif
   find next
endwhile

print "Files counted: ", FileCount
print "Directories counted: ", DirCount

wait key
end
