I've just created a Game Reviews website called GamerScafe. (I'll be buying the Domain soon). I'm gonna put the first review up on monday - it's gonna be of the PS2 game "XIII".
I made the site with a freind of mine (who owns www.silverscafe.co.uk, which he thinks is a good site but actually isn't that great because it has no theme what so ever )
Anyway, tell us what you think of the Design, the colours, the graphics, everything really!
If you can, can you give it a mark out of 10?

BTW: there is an incomplete Retro section if you type /retro at the end. Make sure you type that in lowercase, otherwise you get a rather family UNfriendly advert.
EDIT: don't click the buttons on the retro bit either as they are broken and will give you the same ad.

Design= 6/10
You've got the right idea with the colour scheme, but the toolbar looks off and the fonts are disgusting. I'm no graphics designer, but my advice would be to make the website look a little more inviting. Also, the clean look works well, but try filling up a little more space. Maybe make the paragraphs slihtly off-center, because a blank page with text sat bolt in the middle doesn't look very inviting. But again, you've got the right idea with the website, so just move things around and whatnot.

Content= pleasedontmakemesay/10
Yeah, you really should've added some more stuff before advertising this. And the consoles you're doing are a wee bit outdated. I know you're not trying to steal readers away from IGN, but no-one wants to read reviwes for games that are ten years old.

Again, a good start.

Everybody and their mother is making a game review site/magazine around here :p What's all this about?

Good luck though.

Puss in Boots: Thanks, I'll do some of the things you said, also, I know about how outdated the consoles are - You see, we only have 3 people with not many consoles each (other than me who has quite a few retro ones =P) so I only put the ones we could review stuff for. I will be adding Wii soon, because my friend has just got one, and Xbox 360 when i get mine. Those will probs replace PSX and N64. (I might move them to the retro bit, I don't know - they aren't exactly Retro...)

the Crazy: yeah, thanks. I dunno about the game site thing though, I see what you mean.

And here I was thinking I was original on letting my mum judge whether the next Untitled cover looks good or not.

The title says GameScafe, not GamerScafe. I think the capitalisation is odd, by the way. Besides that I side with Pus in Boots.

OK, i've almost finished the first review - i'm putting it up tomorrow.
About the title, i've just fixed that. My friend thought up the name, because he has that SilverScafe website, he wanted to tie them in together, I personally wanted GamersCafe but oh well.

Sounds almost my site, only mine is 100% retro. (my site is under construction as well) [www.retro-gamer.net]. If you wish we can ad swap or be partners sites or something. I wish you good luck. I give it a 7/10. I like the colors, but the text could be better. (would go into detail, but i am on my cell)

What's your MSN? We can discuss there If you wish. When I try to click on your MSN button, nothing happens.

Also have you tried clicking on the Sega Mega Drive or the Atari 2600 button on your retro site?

The MSN Button isn't for clicking you just move your mouse over it and it should tell you what it is.

for the MSN address, you're meant to copy the popup box when you hover over it into MSN i think.

The Page when you click the retro buttons is the host's fault - it's their current 404 page
Luckily it will go away when the err, "League" ends in a couple of weeks.

Ah my eyes!

Ye, I think that orange is a little too bright against the black! It would be all-right if there wasn't so much of it.

We get plenty of reviews for commercial games. I think you should review indie games, that would be neat.
