FPS Creator X10 / Error in FPSC X10

I have the latest version of Direct X and an \\\"okay\\\" video card(im not going for anything big)

When i open FPS creator free, it runs perfectly for like a minute or two. Then, it shows this error:

Could not obtain DirectSound Buffer.

my sound driver broke not to long ago, rendering my ability to hear anything useless. I live with it, is there a way to tell FPSC that i dont want sound?
