just wondering if there is a way to make entities or walls invisble but still make it as if they are still there, for example, to stop the player going in the wrong direction but i dont actually want the player to see the walls. dont know if a script is needed or just certain settings.

Use a total black texture for the segment/entity and they will be invisible.

I tink there's an invisible wall segment at FPSfree.

I find the Firma program very useful to make custom room, wall and floor segments and wall entities. You can easily apply custom textures without using 3D modelling programs. I can't find the link, but it's somewhere on the forum. You only have to open up paint, fill the Bitmap image up with trueblack and set it as a texture for your wall entity and set the tick "True Blac= transparent" in Firma. Plus, It's free.
