I want to use this code for, when a character dies, its texture changes (LIKE QUAKE II).

But when I kill a character, the FPS Creator crashes! What can I do???

...please post the code you're attempting to use here.

FYI, it is not currently possible to use alternate textures for characters, in FPSC. There's a hardcode issue...

I just added the code "ALTTEXTURE=1" in the end of the character's death script and in the properties of the entity I put in the "Alt Texture" the second texture (it is the same but with more blood ) .

...if the character is stationary, and doesn't move from their location, you could create the illusion of a texture change, by spawning a secondary version with the alternate texture assigned, when the original character is destroyed.

It's not perfect, but it'll do in a pinch...

@cg, why not just randomize the characters too, that way, the enemies would be varied as well.

@Hybrid:

As CG clearly stated.... FPSC fails at alternating textures for character entities. It just doesn't work.

Yeh. Me too. Well bang goes my idea of having a slight bit more realism in randomising characters.......

It's just not the same using boxes..... :-(

on the plus side, with boxes you could have a randomly appearing companion cube :p which upon research I discovered tha someone made a companion cube rubix cube... not off-topic at all

-edit- ah quake 2, I remember the first time I played that game I was like 6, it was the first game i can recall that showed the enemies squirming in pain as they die... made me feel bad back then lol... Until a corpse shot me

I love Jenkins forever :p

NO, I mean spawn one of two entities with different textures, so the cheracters would "look" different.
