I downgraded to 1.09 for the purpose of S4 mod. With the mod to S4 the headshot.fpi no longer works properly. How do you fix it?
It was working fine for a while.

Actually the mod (any mod for that matter) is built on version 1.07 source code, regardless of the version you are actually using. So, headshot will not work with any mods. Nor any other command after v1.07.

Once the source code is available for the newest version, it will be up to the modders whether or not they want to upgrade "their" versions.

This is why it is currently difficult for me to use a mod. I'm just kind of biding my time right now to see what happens.

But S4 is compatible with 1.09. So I will have to wait until there is a 1.09 source mod?

Nope, you have to wait until Lee releases the source code, which apparently will happen soon......

Even then most modders might not update to V1.13, as it'll mean alot of late nights uimplementing their stuff into that new source, and by the time they're done, Lee will probably have released an update or 2 that put's theres out of date again.......

Your right CG.

It was always my thought that Lee intended the availability of his source code for those who are capable of doing their own mods and not necessarily to release to the community whether it be free or sold.

If I were to mod something for myself (which I may) I would probably release the source code I had made modifications to. I'm not saying that the other modders are wrong in not doing this. That is just what I would probably do. BTW, isn't Rampage going to do that? I thought I read it somewhere.

Golly gee willikers zippity dippity doo Batman, how I will have fun with Ply mod if it's made compatible with a new version. Or possible S4mod with Airmod? Too many choices. Yes, Rampage Mod is going open source last I knew, I believe it's on his site and that locked mod combining suggestion thread

When you really sit down and think about it... Lee isn't going to be working on FPSC forever. In fact, after the migration work is done, I'm hoping Lee goes and works on DBP updates to make that thing more stable and to improve upon it's command set.

Once Lee takes a break from updating FPSC, it'll be up to the modders to improve upon the engine and provide everyone with cool things to play around with!

Having spoken to Lee myself about this, he's not intentionally keeping modders' work out of the update loop. He shares an interest in allowing the community to update FPSC themselves. He's even said that if the modders do release their own versions of the source, they can sell it out to people. He told me himself in an email that to him, Mods are just another way to keep attention on FPSC and to attract more people to it... so, there's no reason for him to keep the modders down.

So there might not be full compatibility with scripts such as headshot.fpi?

It has no compatability with any scripts that try to use anything added to AFPSC in any official update V1.08 and up.

Ghost, that is inclusive. New commands in 1.08 will not work with mods either.

I'm afraid you will just have to except it. No amount of debating will get your headshot.fpi to work with a mod.

No it wasn't. It was added in V1.08, and expanded in V1.09, if it was made in V1.07, all the mods would have headshots in them....
