If you create a game and put it on a CD or something like that, will it work on OS's other than Vista?

No only on Vista with a fully Directx 10 compatible video card.

and just because it says DirectX 10 when you check your dxdiag....DOESNT MEAN YOU FULLY HAVE DX10!! nvidia 8 and 9 series, and ati hd 2000, 3000, and 4000 those are the only fully dx10 compat. cards out now...nvidia has the other thing out too what is it um...like the gx250 or something like that...but anyways..

Alright thanks a lot. I have Vista, and will GeForce 8600 GT with 256 mb GDDR3 ram be good enough? That is the graphics card I have, but they recommend 320 gb of graphics card ram.

It would work, but not as good as on a 8800Gt 512Mb
