Ok I have spent 3 days on this one.

I made a 3d object in Milkshape 1.6.6a and added bones to the object. I animated it's arm in milkshape and it looks like what i want. So I exported it using the direct X 8.1 exporter using all options checked.

When the file loads it looks like it should.

When I hit the animation key on the keyboard. The animation plays but it scales the arm between keyframes.

I.E. Keyframe 1 looks good, then it scales smaller until keyframe 15 where it looks good, then it scales smaller until keyframe 30 where it looks good.

Any ideas?

Not really a solution but a tip.

If you use milkshape 3d for animation you will find you need to attach the vertex's to the bones for correct animation.

The problem I have just found is Milkshape will forget the vertex's bones/joints connections that are not animated after you save and load. Thus you will need to do it all over... This explains a lot of the troubles I was having. It still doesn't explain my scaling issue.
