Come one, come all...heheh. I only need to design a few logos, so first come first served. Also, I need to design the graphics for a web page or two (not the setup, just the graphics). So, if you have a web page setup idea, but lack the graphics for it, then give me a shout.

When responding to this post, in need of a design, please give me all the details I will need to create the logo to your fitting (feel, what for, dimensions etc.)

I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Hi.

I'm looking for a for a logo for 'winnipeg pixel'. Basically I just need a simple logo. I'd love it if we could have two versions, one red and black and the other ice blue and black. As for the the feel, we'd just like a techy smooth simple theme. The dimensions don't really matter all that much. Just an average size. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks

hi, i'd like a logo for "not my base", the name losely based on the "all your base are belong to us" theme, demonstrating that my webspace is my property and i can do dam well what i like with it ^_^

thing is, i couldnt decide what to do for the logo/sites header. having a zig would be a bit cheesy, i was thinking of having some random stuff from a mix of pc games, but obviously all drawn to the same style, bah, i dunno.. i just can't decide, you do it

cheers

You freakin' hijacker...heheh. You're probably much better than me anyhow. I'm a newby to graphics arts. But I'm simply trying to get a local job at a signs shop here in the small town I live in. Chances are, even me with my lack of skills can get this job. But I need examples to do it.

Anyhow, DATA, here is the r&b(well, more red and grey) version of the logo. It's okay, with nothing fancy. But even you said for it to be simple. So I stuck with very simply, simply messing with fonts.

Game Maker, you have a GG account... Why not continue this over at GG?

Nano brain, logo looks good. Maybe a slight burn and dodge on the appropriate edges to give it a slight 3D look and it would be great. Just what I would do, at least.

Nah, I'm not so good at logos, I just thought it would be fun to make a logo. That gun in the second logo was actualy a picture of a gun that I just drew the outline of and filled it with black.

Nano,

Your logos are very good, but I do recommend some testing with the different options in your paint program. I have gained professionalism from this and I now create high quality logos for people on the Game Maker Community Forums. If you wish to view some of my creations, search for Predator98 on GMC or visit my site for examples. Also, so Nano knows what he can do for you people, please specify the genre, size, name of logo and any other license requirements etc. So like this:

Name: [whatever you wish for it to be called]
Genre: [Genre of the logo]
Size: [width x height, measured in pixels]
Details: [Any other stuff you wish to tell the designer what to include]

Smug much? And I saw some of your work off of your website, and I wouldn't call it "professional", sure it's good but not professional by any means.

...How is it not professional? Still, they are quality logos, I am thinking of going into the money industry as my parents are pushing me to that.

It's just not quite there by professional standards, you have some messy effects, and in your logos you mix colors that don't quite match, but yes, they are good You could very well make some money off of them

Actually, I thought that mixing random drawings would create a high effect of detail whilst rendering the blurs and sharpenings. Still, thanks for the comment, I am thinking of becoming a worldwide logo business

Well, seems as if I've been rather busy lately, keeping me from finishing what I said I would for you all. I haven't done much, but I hope you enjoy what has been made from the effort put forth.

Data,

Here is the new red and black logo...attached.

First Company Veteran,

I don't know what logos you have made for the people of the forums, nor do I know what GMC is (except that it is a car company in America), nor do I know the address of your site. Therefore, I cannot see your logos. Thanks for the input though. I do know of the various options in Paint Shop Pro, but knowing when to use them and in what manner is a different story, which will take time for me to learn. I have a few books on design that will help guide me along the way. My experience with logo design is not much to nothing. So, there is plenty for me to learn.

Punk13,

Pretty much the overall design, graphic-wise (and I suppose this would include the general layout as well).

Well it kinds of looks like you just took the rectangular marquee tool and deleted part of it. Maybe adding one more "part" (In lack of better words) to the chain and not make it suddenly interrupt if you know what I mean.

Nano Brain, mind if I throw some of my experience in your direction?

When Designing logos, try to think of ways the words or names fit together. the words 'Winipeg' and 'Pixel' share many common letters. You can often enhance a Logo with not only a good choice of fonts, but how the words are 'assembeld' can make a world of difference.

<Ignoring Data's color requirements I did this quickly..>

I used color as an 'accent' as opposed to making the Name red or blue. I did not do this to 'Hijack' your thread, it is my hope that this will help you think outside the box, and experiment more with how words can be treated like a jigsaw puzzle. Once you start looking at words and how they can fit in different ways you will have a whole new perspective on creating logos. Sometimes when dealing with different length words the shapes define themselves. If for example you wanted to make the logo more 'square' the name 'Winipeg' could be placed above the word 'Pixel' but in a reduced size font. Another option is make the 'P' and 'L' in Pixel Capital letters and place a small font 'WINIPEG' over the 'ixe' in PixeL. (between the P and L... also, Don't be afread to play with the font size.. the P&L could be further enhanced by making their font size bigger than the 'ixe'.

Anyways, I'd like to see more variations from you, you said you wanted to practice and build a portfolio. this is the perfect chance to have some fun.

Cheers Mate!

David Gervais,

Great input you. I appreciate your given time to my progress. I like the tips you've given me, and I am sure you will see them put in future designs. Thank you kindly.

First Company Veteran,

I have never needed the buttons below another's post, so my mind had completely forgotten about them, and has not even noticed them the entire time I've been on the forums. Okay, I'm checking out your logos now.

Hey,could you try one for fire night?

its a scifi aliens vs humans type ting, but you are a good alien, not sure if the basics help, but it might set the mood.

Fire Night, maybe a sharp looking ,metalic somthing, on a pure white background if possible, and if this is possible,it be like,on fire at the top, so its mettalic, sharp&pointy, and at the top, a glow of red/orrange/yellow for fire

And if it must havea background, stars would be perfect.
