So i decided to get a moped as my first vehicle because you do not need insurance for it. In Massachussetts you are required to get insurance (its pretty damn expensive) for every vehicle with engine cylinder capacity of more than 50cc and capable speed of no more than 30 MPH.

The moped that i am buying is exactly 50cc but in the specification it says its maximum speed is 35+mph depending on the rider.

I am worried that the RMV may refuse to register it as a moped because of this. In the registration the words "no more than 30mph" are bolded and underlined. Anyone has experience with this stuff? Any moped riders in Massachussetts here?

I think the best bet would be to go to your Secretary of State office and ask them. They are ones that do the registering of those vehicles, so I'd ask them.

I know, when I saw this I'm like... why is this thread here? Lol, don't sweat it though. I don't think mods can move threads though, you might just have to make another thread in GC.
