Uhm... Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I dont think it goes in WIP, cause its not made with TGC software, but I wanted to share it with fine gents and gals anyway.

Star Fighter is a 2d space shooter. The goal is get the highest score. You do this by going to and staying in score zones as long as possible, and of course killing bad guys. This game is for DBP 2008 (Dream Build Play 2008) http://www.dreambuildplay.com/main/default.aspx

And here, is a video!!!

Looks great. I really can't say anything else about it. Though it seems that the enemies are too fast for the player, so to kill the enemies will have to a hard and long task, unless you sped up the video.

Indeed, that is a problem. I did not speed up the video. However, I have a plan to fix it, im going change the controls so that you can fire in any direction, instead of just the way you are going.

Nice work flashing snall. I signed up to the DBP compo as well but only to get the 12 month XNA creators club trial .

The game looks like it could be quite addictive from the video. The explosions look quite nice too. Good luck in the compo.

I dont get that, they gave me 12 months membership to somthing thats already free anyway... To become a premium member is what costs money, and thats NOT what they gave away.

Yea, I'm pretty happy with the current graphical state, mostly cause it kicks the day lights out of anything ive ever done before. All my other projects have been little crappy boxes or cubes.

Meh, even if I dont win, Im content, this was spose to being my learning game with C# (my first exposure to it) , but when I saw that there was a contest going on, I figured "What the heck?".

The trial lets you run your games on the 360, you can't normally do that with the free account.

o really?
I must have missed something. How do you do that?
and wait, now im confused.

You get a year free to regester, and 4 months free to submit?

EDIT:
and I quote..
Quote: "
*Limit one 12-month XNA Creator's Club trial membership per person, while supplies last. Trial membership does not include access to premium content or services on the XNA Creators Club web site. Offer is non-transferable, and not redeemable for cash. Not valid with any other discounts or offers.

Yeah the whole 12 month thing and then the 4 month one when you submit confused me too. I think full membership gets you access to the peer review submission thing and the 12 month just lets you test your apps on your own 360. All I know is since signing up for the compo I've been testing my game on the 360 .

[Edit] To quote the email I received when I signed up:
Quote: "Join the gaming revolution on the Xbox 360! Your 12 month XNA Creators Club Trial Membership enables your Xbox 360 for developing games using XNA Game Studio"

[Edit 2] To activate it you just type the code you receive when you signed up for the compo into the account management bit on the 360.

so..
I go to my gamertag, Eye Bo Video, goto account managment, hit redeem code, type that in? And I get to test out my apps??? That is very intreging... I think I might go try this out.

Has full details on how to set it up. As I said I don't think you can actually do the last step (packaging the game and submitting to creators club) on the trial (just test it locally on your own 360), whereas once you have submitted your game for the compo and got the 4 months premium service you can.

Alright. Cool. The game has been submitted. And not to soon either. I turned it in last night, at around 10 o`clock, CUTTING IT CLOSE!
But its DONE. Ive never finished a game before, so I'm pretty hyped.
