Redeemed was an old game i first started.

It was supposed to be a shoot-em up.
In the future with a post apocalyptic twist.

I started to change that when i moved on with that game.
And when i started to play Manhunt on the PSP, i immediatelly wanted something in those lines.
In the future, on a "prison-island" with sick criminals trying to kill you.

But in the end that all changed!
Redeemed is an action based game, with some sick twists in it.
Of course! Its not a mindless "shoot everything you see" game
No! Its a game that contains a story that will develop till the end.
It playes in the future (2012), where the world is starting to collapse.

Here is the story:

---

Its the year 2012

Their are many prophecies on how humanity will "end".
The Bible predicts of the "Rapture" and the "Antichrist"
Nostradamus's prediction of the Planet Comet.
It never happened. People predicted the "Rapture" to happen in 1992.
And as for Global Warming, in 2005.
And so there are many more dates.

But there was 1 date! 1 date that was allways in the back of our heads.
Scientists tried to solve the pieces of the puzzle.
And tried to find the answer, or better yet.
They tried to claim it was fake. For people's sake, that they wouldnt go mad.

But the ancient Maya civilisation already predicted this "disaster".
2012.
There were many possiblities of how the world could end!
Never knew it would go like this.
We only knew that the calender stopped to exist.
Thats all that we knew.

In 2012, some people started to act weird.
Became more violent! Agressive, suspicious.
They couldnt trust other people. They wanted to "defend" themself's.
But for what?
Soon many more people started to act the same way.
And the world became a slaughterhouse. Ruled by chaos.
Some people remained how they were. But were affraid of those that changed.
So the world was devided in sections!
For the poor and the rich.
The poor lived in chaos, killing each other because they are affraid to be killed.
And the rich lived in chaos, affraid to be slaughtered by the mad man.

---
(I am sure that it contains some grammar mistakes,
but dont worry they will eventually be changed)

The Main-Character will introduce himself in the first level.
And as the game goes on his personality will reveal itself.

Here are some screenshots!
(This is the first level, its still W.I.P as you can see)
The first level is based on a Urban environment.
And as for now..i have some screenies showing some buildings.
Also some billboard-buildings and just basically the concept of the first level!
You start on the rooftop and you need to get down! Easy as that.

---EDIT---
Oh yeah i still havent created an actuall solid ground!
So thats the reason why there are so many wholes.
(this will be changed of coure)

Well those were the first screeniest..

I am now beginning on the streets for some detail entities:
garbage can,
paper,
new vehicles,
etc etc...

So i can upload a demo soon..of how the world would look like.
And after that! I'll upload a demo of how the game would play like.

Hope you like the screenies!
And i'll post some pictures of models that i have created so far for this game in my other thread! (Cheese Cake's media thread)

Well i dont have the best computer and it runs fine on mine.
The buildings that are basically blocking the player from seeing the "emtpyness" are all just boxes with.
So they wouldnt cause any harm to the framerate.

I hope i can optimize this game so it can run on almost any computer.

I actually had a good frametate on "He is coming".

Quote: "Great. Did you make those buildings? "

No i didnt created the buildings (i did created the buildings that are far away, just the sort of "border buildings")
But i did altered the meshes and made the UV also the texture.
They were free, but didnt contained a UV or texture.

Yeah is cool and thanks!

Just jpg.

There is no floor because its still W.I.P, i'll add floor later on.
As for the sun effect, thats just a bug in FPSC i think.

Thanks man!

little update...been working on models for the city scenery.
And can upload some screenshots soon since it is coming out pretty nicely.

Also for the record!
This isnt a zombie game! The maniacs arent zombies...they are humans who just became paranoid.
So its not like shooting mindless wannabee zombies.
No.. its just shooting people who are trying to kill you..because they think you want to kill them.

And! Its not like that everyone wants to kill you, there are a few good guys in the maniac zone (have to give it a good name).
Also not everyone is paranoid, there are some bad guys who run some bussiness in those zones.
Basically a sort of maffia.

But! However, there will be freaky monsters in this game.
Not zombies, just freaky monsters.

Everything but the ground looks great. Seriously, it almost looks like macaroni and doesn't match the buildings. I'd at least make the ground less saturated. Maybe you could add some stained concrete tiles around the buildings to match the walls? I must say you had the right idea of putting a street in your city. If you can keep the environment more consistent you'll have it made.

There goes my two-cents.

Thanks but...like i said (its even in my first post), its W.I.P .
Meaning...i still have to create media for it. Before making the whole level.

And there is a big chance that this whole level will be changed.
Cause this was just an idea of how the level could look like.

Thanks Dark jaguar glad you liked it

Well since the game levels got a whole new twist!
I have to change level 1! Cause the player doesnt start on a rooftop.
This time he starts in his room. Just waking from a nightmare!

And sorry that i didnt posted any updates in this thread.
Got real busy with my job and making my new models.
You can go to my other thread in the Models and Media board for any progress of them.

This game looks really nice, Accept for the ground, it looks weird? I love the buildings though, and your models are top notch.

Am I the only one who notices that the ground is a skybox? It's not what the actual ground looks like.

You're not the only one. I noticed it was the skybox.

Heh heh Finally!
Nah just joking.

Anyway i hope i can upload some screenies soon of some progress!
I have been working on some urban and i think its best to just continue this level!
Of course with some changes! But the idea would be the same.
After most is done, i'll upload a level which you can try out.
Its not the actuall game, merely a test of how the level sphere would feel like.
