Its a desktop super computer (Using 8 of the new Nvidia 280's) that quickly computes fluid dynamics to simulate the cleansing of your face.

Some day Engineers will be able to build this wonderful device. For now, I will continue to suffer the dizzying sickness after taking a tumble in my washing machine.

Why is being clean such a chore!

I think it's a cleaning device. I've read about them, they produce water or something without short-circuting. Amazing stuff.

Really? well, I'll have to look into these "showers".
Does anyone know where a curious consumer may find one?

Water?! Ewwwww, I mean yuck! Why would you want to clean yourself with water of all things? The urinated droppings of a pregnant hippo is all that does the job for me!

No I don't, it's the purely urinated droppings of a pregnant Hippo, nothing with urine.

......I'm just gonna ignore the last posts and say the water writing thing was cool, and that I want one in my garden also. If I place it in the drive-way, it would serve double purpose as I can use it to wash the car.

I don't really find it too interesting, it looks like it's a huge printer that spits out water instead of ink.

What you have to think about is how difficult this must've been to make.

Is it difficult to scroll letters and images across a scoreboard? The only difference is controlling water valves, rather than light bulbs or pixels on a screen.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, like they should be.

Its not really comparable to a scoreboard. The biggest difference is that the light bulbs are fixed in place, and aren't being moved by gravity. You have to time exactly how long to let the water run, how fast to let the water come out, which faucet to release the water from and when. Its not as easy as it looks. Why do you think no one has ever done it before?
I'm not saying its super-mega-science on the level of the LHC or anything.
I'm just saying its much more difficult than you think it is.

That's amazing! My favorite was when they started making a "banner" with letter cut outs. I wonder where it's located?

His suggestion is the best I've heard so far, and probably how they do it. Do you have another idea?

It's more a hardware problem than an artistic or software one. Basically you'd need to connect up a whole load of valves to a computer. You can probably buy that kind of thing. Then it wouldn't be too hard to write a program into which you feed a long monochrome bitmap, with a width of the number of valves, and length of however long you want the program to run. You'd just draw your letters and stars and things on that.

I don't dispute that it's pretty awesome though.

Well, not really, he just made it sound so simple. I mean, the software behind that thing must be absolutely crazy.

Sorry for any offence Venge.
