If only I had DBPro - I could swat a fly in real time
I could mesh deform its wings,
I could vertex shade its limbs,
Even while the CPU was bump mapping.

If only I had DBPro - I could code like a Pro
My data objects wouldn\'t get mixed,
My arrays wouldn\'t be jinxed,
Cause I'd have my linked lists.
If only I had DBPro............

loads and loads of polygons
bump mapping and refraction
and of course dynamic illumination

If only I had DB Pro - I couldn't realize my dreams
because the video card of me
is a nVidia TNT2 64 only
and i dont have money for a GF2 Ti

Dead Glory - DG was the highest poster on RGT and even on the old DarkBasic forums.
He had in excess of 1000 posts and we all aspired to get close to him.
I was wondering if the number of posts each person makes, could be put up on Apollo, so we have bragging rights, as in the old days.

I didn't know about that. Thanks for pointing it out.
Now if we could only have it visible next to our handle/avatar, as on RGT, we'd know who the pro posters were.
There was also a small green light that showed whether you were online or not. That way you knew there was someone listening while you were ranting.

I think a visible post count would promote useless posts. People would put up even more garbage than they do now just to get their number up.
Now, if there was a 'quality' counter rather than a 'quantity' counter...

DBP, you con.
You claim, "simple to make games".
But it's pretty hard

lol ive spent .2 hours on the forums and it still says must get life.

Its difficult to quantify the quality of a post

But yeah, it's true. DG would just go "Hmmm.." , "Awww", "Naah!" and get his count up. The worst was when he went "Huh?"

Actually it might be a good idea to judge the quality of a post by assigning weights to certain attributes and then take the weighted average.

Negative weight for:
Swear words, Copy-Paste from Wiki articles, putting down people just for the sake of putting down, Going off on a tangent

Positive weight for:
Geeky posts, Adding to the discussion, Light humour
