Ya for a commercial licence at only $19.95 and functions almost the same as Crazy Bumps ya can't go wrong, and it will help anyone import their models into FPSC X10, that was the main reason I bought it.
They also have a freeware command line version of Shader Map for download also.

I purchased this last night and had a quick play. It does seem good for the price in comparison with CrazyBump although I couldn't seem to find any options for changing the normal or specular effect.

It only appeared to allow me to select whether normal and specular maps were rendered and generated!?

As a result the 3D preview of my diffuse texture didn't look anywhere near as good as the examples on the website. How do you alter the normal and specular values?

Nomad Soul@ If you load your diffused map first then click on the little normal map image to the left it will display adjustment controls on the bottom left corner of the app, so you can adjust the normal map, this also works for all the other maps as well

@chupra cabra

Thanks man. Guess I should have just gone to bed after downloading and tried the next day.

I see what you mean now. Nice application and especially useful for X10 content.

$19.99 well spent.

Photoshop has a plugin that will make normal maps.

Crazy Bumps doesn't import .dds files either, at least the last beta I used didn't

Ya it will but it doesn't generate specular, ambient occlusion or displacement maps, You need a normal map and a specular map to import your models into X10, the whole point of Crazy Bumps and Shader Map Pro is to save the artist time by generating maps fast, sure you could make all these maps in Photoshop but most IGD's only have limited or no extra time to spend making them

Yes but you don't near the control or easy of use from the photoshop plugin that these programs can offer
