i got this new super sweet mouse and key board for my birth day but for some reason the middle mouse button wont work. because of this i cant use any modeling software because most use a middle button to rotate the screen. i dont want to take it back because its really nice and i don't know where it is from, so anyone know how i can fix the problem? mabey how to assign some random button to use the middle click function?

Edit: it is the middle click not the scroll.

please help

Does it come with a CD? It would use a utility to set the buttons. Also check the website fro drivers if it did not come with a CD.

no CD, and theres know friggin way ill find it in the website (its microsoft)
i can see the posts now, "good luck finding it in the huge maze of evil which is the Microsoft product information page".

Edit: ok, i found the problem, but i still need a solution. the middle button works, but it dose not do what it is supposed to. if i use it it just brings up the next window. for example say i had one tab one TGC and another on turbosquid. it will change from focusing on TGC and move to turbosquid, and vica versa. unfortunately for some reason this is the default setting for this button on the mouse, so what do i change it to? any one know the name of the function it should perform?

what's the model of the mouse? Look on the box and tell me.

It seems most new mouses let you change what the middle button does. Which is what it's doing I think. You can google "[model] middle button" or something and see what comes up.

"Scroll" is the 'technical' term for what you want.

It was "secondary context menu" on my mouse. Bloody irritating, why can't they just leave the thing alone? Like these joypad/ZBoard profiles too; I'll do it myself if you don't mind! NO, I DO NOT WANT ALL OF MY KEYS SWITCHED AROUND BECAUSE I JUST STARTED JEDI ACADEMY!
